How to Choose an Electronic/Smart Bidet Toilet Seat?

Hi, was looking to buy a smart bidet toilet seat with extra features?

I've tried to measure but the ones available are all too large.

Eg: Bunnings -
Costco -

Cannot understand if they will fit or not. Any recommendations for ones that will fit? Budget: max. $500

Existing Toilet: W 35 cm x L 46 cm (approx)

It all depends on what toilet you have. You'll have a D or O shape, then there's different sizes etc. Measure your toilet first and see if those bidets would fit it - their dimensions would be listed.

Good thing about Bunnings is their return policy is stellar. I bought one and it didn't fit which I somewhat knew but still was keen to try, so returned (unused).

In the end I got something like this: https://tudaloo.com.au/products/tudaloo-bidet-attachment?var…

(I didn't buy the one linked, just using the link as an example)

    • It looks like an O ..

      I measured it , without the seat .. its W 35 cm x L 46 cm (approx)

Then that is more like a 0 not an O

  • Did you have a PowerPoint in a suitable location?

If not, running a new one properly probably will exceed $500 these days by itself lol

It’s also to * my understanding * a plumber is legally required for the bidet install

    • yaa was going to get a plumber anyways
the powerpoint gonna cost about 200

This is ozbargain, it's pretty easy to self install. I DIY'd it despite having 0 plumbing experience. Although now I can't sleep worrying that the police will knock on my door and ask if my toilet is up to standards.

      • Pleased to report the Evakare doesn't require a Reduced Pressure Zone Device (RPZD); so just a GPO. Here's the compatibility spec if you haven't found it already

That would be a power point. If you really want PowerPoint, you can run it anywhere off a laptop.

  • I've just been over at a friend's house resetting the power connector for a Caroma bidet seat. It's only weeks old and very glitchy. This may get sorted as a warranty issue but I'd advise stay away for now. For my money it's Toto, and yes I need to get a new toilet pan due to their unusual dimensions. So a good time to upgrade to rimless tornado flush. I'd try to choose a seat that doesn't require an (expensive) RPZ valve,

So much effort just to take a dump. FFS.

A friend did a DIY install of a Toto Washlet, invited me over and said to bring a bowel motion. No one has asked me that before, I was touched.

      • wipes away emotional tears

        Now I feel left out.

Did you consent to being touched?

  • Following… I'm after something within budget that can lift and close the seat/lid by itself.

I have the cheapest Toto, does pretty much everything but lid is manual

We have that Evekare one from Bunnings, and it is awesome. The funny thing was, the bidet cost more than the actual toilet.

The problem we had with the Bunnings one is that very few toilets have enough length for it to fit flush. Even though the one we ended up on is fine, it's not as great of a match as one would hope.

Make sure your water source doesnt use recycled water.

Smart Bidet? Does it come with an app so they can scrape and sell your bodily function data?
