D-LINK Wireless N-150 Modem Router $23.60 Dick Smith

40

Found on their website. It says save $5.90, but the ORP should be over $50.00.
Wireless N-150. Up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream. Not very fast speed, but should be enough for internet surfing.

Not many shops have this in stock. But it's very interesting here that almost all Dick smith stores has another D-link N150 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router at $95.20 http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XH3386/n150-wireless-adsl2-m…. There's no model number of this on their website. But I checked in their shops, the model number on the package of this $95.20 modem is exactly DSL-2730B. It means it's the same model number of their advertized $23.60 one.

Don't know why 2 different modems have the same model number. But it makes this promotion interesting. If someone knows details and make sure I am wrong, please correct this deals here.

I have this modem on an internode reach plan. It drops out lots, it has problems gaining a connection. When I put my old crappy non wifi adsl1 modem on, to faultfind, it connects immediately. While the price is great, I paid $125 a while ago and personally would avoid it.

  • It is only N-150 which means the signal won't be strong enough to cover whole area of an average size house. It is only good for a small unit.

  • Decent reviews on uMart for this model, but I'll wait for one to pop up on OzB with GigaLAN (not that I would expect one to pop up that cheap with Gigabit in a hurry). :)

"Don't know why 2 different modems have the same model number"

Unfortunately D-link do that. D-link had two, completely different models of DSL-200 on sale, which made things very confusing whenever people referred to one of them. No version numbers to distinguish. You had to ask people what it looked like when trying to help as they were also different cosmetically!

    • annoying when dlink shows such poor customer care
someone who knows the spcs might be able to comment and find th real model numbers.

Unfortunately even 2yrs ago it was reported as a problem model http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/33887
Devices need to work reliably otherwise they are wasted money (at any price)
