I know buying a game in a different region to your PSN account prevents you from getting/using DLC's. But I also know the EU and AUS are sometimes included in the same region…
I am trying to work out if I buy PS5 games from europe/uk (cheaper) if they will allow Australian content and addons to be installed and played in Australia. One example is Sonic Origins Plus, which requires content to be downloaded to get the 'Plus' Content.

I ran into a similar thing when I moved here. My account is American so, most of my games and DLC are American. When I started buying games here I had to make an AUS account to be able to redeem DLCs and extras. After installing everything is playable in my main account.
Perhaps you could just buy and if doesn't allow you to redeem on your account you could make an EU account. Just a suggestion.
