[SA] Advice on Buying a Car (2024 Plate Clearance or near New) in December

In early December, I'm heading back to South Australia after a few years working overseas and will need to pick up some wheels fairly quickly. I would like some advice on the best way to get a deal at this time of year. Do they discount 2024 plated vehicles in December? Is there a recommended strategy for the best deal, and should I engage earlier etc?

It doesn't have to be new, anything less than 20k on the clock if is in range. If helpful, I am leaning towards a Toyota Fortuner or Isuzu MUX (4WD) or similar pending a test drive but open-minded to anything suitable. I appreciate I'll be limited to what is in stock. Grateful for any advice as I have been offshore for a while.

    been offshore for a while.

So you're the guy on the oil rig that's always sending me spammy messages on marketplaces. Let me guess, it's also your son's birthday next month?

  • You've got a mobile or tablet I presume , what better way to do your research and it's about as easy as anything that's easy 😅 .
Any advantage to go diesel , only you know that !

    • I wish, a bit out of budget!

Do you need an off road 4wd, or large tow capacity? What's your budget?

Deals are dependant on a bunch of factors. Stock, monthly sales targets mostly, bit mot limited to. Plate clearance sales tend to be advertised in january.

You can look at: www.carsales.com.au and put in SA.

Add in New or New and Used and Max Km of 20,000.

    Also, a Max Price.

    Year is 2024 to "ANY"

Once you have done this, sort them.

Tip: Ask if they have actual physical stock, don't get conned into "It is on the way" or "I might have a trade-in or a demo for you soon"

    Throw in keywords like Demo.
