Auto Caliberation, built in smarts which is Vidaa and a laser light source .. no info about the blacks and contrast or handling HDR or the optics .. this is just a smaller version of a long throw faux 4k projector in the market with a laser light source. Tonnes of videos on youtube promoting the product but none from the known projector reviewers.. 1600 ANSI lumens is not very bright .. Vidaa is ok at best ..laser light source is awesome…but ultimately in a projector what counts is the Contrast and blacks since that is the issue when the light source is not bright Like a telly and every major projector manufacturer can guarantee colour accuracy siince the 2000s and I cannot find any mention or comparison online in print or video ..Lamp based proven projectors are still a better buy IMO. This is too expensive for what it is given that lamps are not expensive and plenty of Benq, Epson 4ks can be had for much less refurbished with warranty and will provide a much better image for cheaper

Stop watching TV then and get a projector :-D

    • I have moved from lamp based to laser. In fact, I have the Chinese domestic version the C1 pro.

In terms of color vibrancy, lamp based cannot compete with laser. Also laser can provide better contrast. Other advantge is lamp life, which unfortunately is the achilles heel of lamp based machine.

Agree C1 is quite old though, as it was released in China in 2022. They released the C1S and C1 pro in 2023 and released C2 series this year.

1600 lumen should be adequate for most applications. Hisense is known to under advertise its light output. In fact this 1600 lumen may possibly be brighter than the 2200 lumen claimed by Xgimi's LED machine. Have a look yourself whether its bright enough for you or not before jumping into conclusion. My C1 pro thats advertized as 2350 lumen can sometimes be too bright for me.

  • Two grand is probably about the right price for those specs - it certainly wasn't worth anything like $3500 😂

You can buy serious projectors like the X3100i for under $3500 as an example - https://www.amazon.com.au/BenQ-X3100i-Console-Projector-Resp… - nobody would look at that, and then decide to spend an additional $200 on the Hisense…

  • The Hisense PL1H is the same price at a lot of stores atm (good guys, hn, jb, etc) and an ultra-short throw, for people who don't have a good 3 metres of throw distance or aren't looking for a screen size greater than 120" https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-laser-cinema-pl1h…
