Thats interesting because about 5 years ago when i was first comparing these two headphones it seemed like the sennys were rated more positively. (e.g. here ) although through my research I would have thought they were basically comparable. For me at the time I could get the Sennys for cheaper than the 700Xs and I liked the colour as well.
I have had these for the last 5 years, Im not getting the same experience as you're reporting but the soundstage is good and I love these. Only issue I have had with these is the faux leather comes off after awhile but i liked them so much that I bought a piece of leather and had someone replace it.
That is an interesting comparison. We shall see - as I did buy the AD700X's as well and they just arrived (I can't be bothered to test until later tonight).
I did see the rtings review of the 599s before buying - which is why I was truly shocked when I put them on and they were so different to any other headphone I have.
These are great headphones to connect to the ps5 controller, audio is good and you can still hear what is going on in the house as well
That's why I bought them. I wanted to be able to use them on my pc without blocking out other sound
I have an old pair of Bose QC35s connected (wired) to my PC that I use for gaming. Would these be much of an upgrade?
They will just be different, you will be going from closed back noise cancelling headphones to open back headphones where you will hear the noise around your house [and anyone close by will also hear what is in your headphones, if you have them turned up]
i use Sennheiser HD 450BT for outside the house, for travelling and the ANC, and these HD 599 for inside the house for PS5/computer use. The 450BT had bad head clampage [is that a word?] until they got worn in, but the 599 were really comfy from the get-go.
Due to the overwhelming positivity regarding the 599s, I bought them. Having listened to them, I think they are below what I hoped for. They colour the sound so significantly that it is vastly different. I know, maybe that is an unfair thing to say but at the time audiotechnica ad700x's were available for 40$ more and I can't help feeling that based on my interactions with the at 900 series that the 700s would actually measure up to the expectations I had.
