    I don't know.
    
    If you are going to cancel and take out the same cover again, you would only be doing this if a discount to the renewal terms was on offer.
    
    Therefore, I'd imagine the new proposal (if accepted) would be regarded as being in the 1st year and therefore eligible.
    
    If not, you would still be saving over and above the Renewal Premium.
    
    I don't see a downside, providing the cover is the same.
