TL;DR - Auspost lockers facing delays to process parcels due to Christmas volumes
I had a few parcels delivered to my locker at 111 Bourke Street Melbourne last week. Only one of them has
generated a notification for me to go and pick up. A few weren't tracked so I wasn't sure if they'd arrived or not, but on Thursday had a LTS parcel delivered there and the tracking showed it was signed for.
I went to the post office parcel area with a printout of the delivery confirmation to ask what was happening, as previously even when all the lockers were full, they notified me and allowed me to pick it up from the window. The lady told me they had a large backlog of parcels and most wouldn't be processed for several days.
Given it is only the 8th of December, I'd be a little wary using the locker delivery addresses around Christmas time. Mail volumes are likely to continue to increase, so the turn around times are likely to get worse.
