    These giftcards are getting worse. Why keep making more exclusive ones likes pubs and cinema? Surely the only time people buy these is when they are on sale.
    Can't see many going "Happy birthday mate, here's a gift card for the pub, you can't even use it on the slaps but enjoy".

      It's the same MCC codes as the restaurant gift card though, saved quite a bit while on a domestic holiday.

          Not the same. The TCN Pub & Bar gift card cannot be used at Fast Food Restaurants (MCC 5814).

      @bruceclipse Interesting that on this TCN page, it says hotels and would depend on the MCC of the hotel. It may mean hotel pub/restaurant.

    Isn’t this the same as TCN Restaurant? That works at Grill’d which is surely a fast food restaurant.

      Grill'd has MCC 5812 so it doesn't fall under the Fast Food Restaurant category which is MCC 5814.

      TCN Pub & Bar gift card includes Country Clubs (MCC 7997) which TCN Restaurant does not officially include. However they both include MCC 5812 and MCC 5813.

        TCN Restaurant also works at 7997 though. I am yet to find a place that pub works but TCN Restaurant doesn't.

      i went to a pub on the weekend (Bailey Brewery, WA) and the bar attendant allowed me to split pay, which allowed me to wipe out one of my low balance cards. probably better to ask for this in a pub than in a restaurant where you settle the bill at the end, and when they're not busy.
      you just need to keep in mind if there is a card surcharge and factor that into the split.

    FYI you can add the Pub and Bar card to Shopback which you can then use to buy the Restaurant Choice gift card for an extra 3% saving and adding Fast Food (MCC 5814) and Hotels compatibility.

        You can't even use it with Shopback Pay, which was probably an unintended result as you are technically still paying legitimate merchants, just via Shopback as a payment gateway.
        I think if enough people complain to TCN they might be willing to unblock ShopBack on pub and restaurant cards?
