Good deal. Glad somebody posted this. I was going to but can only post twice per hour.

For anyone who automatically uses an American VPN and wants to buy this deal a word of warning - turn it off - as its not available in North America.

Aren't these the same games that were in the lynx giveaway a few weeks ago?

    • yep

    • +1

Agreed but they disappeared very fast and I'd argue heaps didn't get them.

A couple of games have been added: Settlers 7, Heroes and Rayman from memory?

Looks pretty good. Are these Steam games?

    • +1

      Nope, uPlay

I looked at uPlay on Wikipedia and it says: "The service is provided across various platforms (PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Facebook, iPhone, iPad, and most recently revealed, OnLive)"

Does this mean these games can be used on any of the applicable platforms eg PS3 or are they all PC only from this deal?

Why the neg? How could you possibly object to that question?

      • Dunno, i thought it was a valid question as well… however unlikely. Would be awesome if software companies did this though. DRM 'could' easily accomplish this, no need for physical discs.

      PC only man.

Glory, honour, and prestige be upon you. :)

    • (experience) PS3 version of Ghost Recon Future Soldier; uPlay seems primarily to allow for the collection of gaming statistics eg total kills, max kill streak etc. It also provided a store like interface that allowed you to spend uplay points which you got by achieving certain criteria. It was stupid because there as pretty much 2 guns and a map, so in that respect it was a waste of time. I imagine that Sony would not allow for a 3rd party full blown store.

uPlay is basically a cross platform account system that allows a single user account to manage and collect gaming statistics. On the PC version there was also a web store for actual games.

To answer your actual question, this will only give you access to the PC version, and like Steam the code is linked to your account.

  • good deal, will buy them all if I didnt get them from the previous deals.

NOTE: you can get Rayman Origins from the $5 Lynx shower gel pack from Woolworths.

If they were steam I would, uPlague is the last thing I wanna be forced to install

    • Most of the recent Ubisoft titles on Steam still need to run Uplay anyway.

      • wow, so you install steam then need to also install UPlay… that sure sucks big time!

  • anyone else having trouble paying? Paypal and CC both not working hmm

Bought Driver back when it was $1 for a day. It is a good game :) Even though most of these can be found cheaper elsewhere :L

DRM on Settlers 7 (need to be online full time to play) makes this panda sad.

DRM on Anno 2070 (3 diff-hw installs before having to beg for more) makes this panda erk.

    Uplay makes this panda ponder.

Anyone use it? How is it. Does it fondle anything inappropriately?
