Spinifex Full Fabric Lounge Recliner Blue $59 (Club Price, Regular $189.99) + Shipping ($0 C&C) @ Anaconda

200

This is a pretty comfy chair. Have two already but decided to buy another two. The only improvement would be the addition of a carry handle. They were reduced to $79, but have now been reduced further as part of their monster deal promotion. Stock checker shows plenty around.

A suitable addition for every OzBargainer's lounge room!

  • Got something similar from bunnings, stays in garage and prefect to relax after returning from gym.

Just my 2c (admittedly about the Wanderer version, but they look identical) I got one for christmas a few years back, and honestly I was happy when it ended up falling apart. Compared to traditional camp chairs these are on a whole other level of weight, size and pain to use. When folded down they still have a massive blueprint to try and fit in the car. They're heavy and not designed to be caried anywhere. The recline feature can be really nice to have in some situations, but mine was not at all comfortable to use when not in a reclined state (probably the biggest downside). I also managed to get my finger caught in the folding mechanism and ended up losing the nail.

Overall I would never recommend this design for use in actual camping.

      Agree.

I've tried this for a night (mate's) and found it no more (actually less) comfortable than a good quality standard chair plus a footstool which when camping can be a box, milk crate, etc. The other disadvantage with this big thing is you can't get close to the fire when you want to, and who lies flat when they do. Mate doesn't bring it anymore.

Maybe a good option for lounging around in the sun or having a snooze but I wouldn't recommend for camping.

Be aware. I was very excited about these chairs a few months back when they were on sale. Got myself two.

The reality it these things are heavy as f, massive, and absolutely not suitable for 'camping'. Best case scenario, in my view, is maybe for someone who has a caravan, can easily store them inside, and can set them up for a longer period.

I ended up returning mine as there was zero chance they would actually get used.
The top comment by @the swear jar about using these in you lounge room is actually not as ridiculous as it might sound.

    • I was literally purchasing these to move them frequently in my small car
Sad to know it just won't suit :(

Thank you for the reality check.

I'm sure you could strap them to your roof or buy a trailer 😎

  • Thoughts on this one vs. the Dune equivalent?

    https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-furniture…

    • I got 2x Dune chairs for $99 each when they were on sale recently.
They are light enough to carry around for me.
Much more padding than Spinifex (from top to bottom) & the head rest can be changed to lumbar support.
Has side table with cup holder, carry pocket x2 on the back, can recline to about 150-170dg.
I'm pretty satisfied. Haven't taken camping yet, currently used around the pool.

  • This style of recliner is my favorite for the garage and camping.
    However.
Mine is much lighter and has a synthetic mesh which breathes so drying off after a swim is awesome.
    Very easy to clean too.

  • We had several of this design, from a few different brands.
Comfy, but a hassle to transport.
The big issue though, is the hinge is held in a plastic bracket that invariably breaks, and breaks fast if used on a surface that isn’t 100% level, like at camping.
