After joining a few events in previous years, I'm going to host one at Bar Regio in Sydney on the 13th of November 2024. πŸŽ‚

🎟️ Cost: Set menu ($40 included within budget!)

Join us for an evening of fun, delicious pizza, and good vibes as we celebrate 18 years of OzBargain awesomeness. Whether you’ve been around since the early days or just joined recently (but not too recently), it’s a great chance to meet fellow bargain hunters and enjoy some mouth-watering pizza.

How to Join: Simply register below to RSVP. Remember, we have a cap of 20 people, so don’t wait too long to sign up! πŸ™Œ

Like the other events will likely create a deposit to confirm your spot. If there's high interest, we can look into increasing the cap.

28/10 Deposit instructions

$10 beemit deposit is required. When making the transfer, in the β€œfor what?” field, please write your OzBargain username. My beemit username is:

Once you have paid your deposit, there is nothing else to do. Note your $10 deposit will be refunded in person at the event.

Please pay the deposit by Wednesday 6 November.

If I don't receive a deposit payment by 6 November, I will assume you are not attending and will allocate your spot to the next person in the waitlist. If you have a change of mind, the last date to cancel your deposit is Sunday 10 November. All deposits that are forfeited after this date will go into a prize pool for attendees of the event - so you better come!

    Hi all, thanks for registering. As we fill up I have created a deposit for the event. Please deposit $10 to @tlai34 via Beam which will be refunded on the day to secure your spot.

    • Do you have any other payment method? I am an international student and don't have an Australian driving license, so I can't register for Beem. how about bsb and account ?

        Turn on your private messages and I can pm you BSB. Looks like beem allows passport for id verification as well.

          Beem needs two verification, with option of passport, medicare or driver license. you cant have the last two as an international student / work visa holder. :(

  • Since its getting close to the cut off date, is there a chance the cap will be increased. Or If some people have registered but not paid the deposit would I be able to pay to secure a spot even though I'm on the waitlist?

    • Once the deadline for deposit has passed, I will start opening it to the waitlist.

      However, looking at your events, it looks like you have already registered for 2 and this would be the 3rd? Is that correct or am I reading it incorrectly?

        This would be my second event. I guess it counts being on a wait list as registered.

    Just confirmed with the venue, they will call me again to confirm with me!

    1.4% card surcharge.

    BYO is per person to make it easier for everyone, don't bring your own.

    They will try and put us on one table, otherwise we'll be split across 2x10.

      • Hey tlai, thanks for organising. I plan to BYO a bottle of redwine, if that's still OK? Saw on their website it is $2.50pp. Feel free to dm if it is easier.

          Is it just for yourself? The byo surcharge is $3.50 p.p for the people drinking.

          As it's still under the budget once we include the card surcharge it should be fine.

    Thanks all for attending and being relatively puntual.

    Hopefully you all left full.

    We achieved 100% attendance and stayed within the budget.

    It is good to meet a big range of diverse people and hear their experiences and stories about ozb.

    Thanks again @tlai for your efforts to ensure a good time was had by all and that the budget was kept in check. I had a really nice time and enjoyed the company. I hope I didn't bore those of you I chatted with too much. As for the people I didn't talk to, consider yourself lucky but there's always next year! Can I register now? ;-)
