Google Vodafail and you'll know why.
I did that recently but I noticed it was all from years ago, (when you look at updates page last one was 2012)nothing much has changed.
I wish I’d realised before signing up but hopefully this serves as a warning to others.
Family is on Vodafone and Kogan in Sydney and we travel down the coast and no problem .
no problem for me in Brisbane. Been using Felix which is on Vodafone network for a couple of months.
surely you'd grab a cheap Voda/reseller sim to try before you buys a 12mth sim? that goes for every provider. Lebara has consistently had cheap starter packs over the past year to test Voda out.
I'm currently sim slutting with Optus, kids are on Voda and the get 5g in the house, Telstra is only 4g. But travelling around & at work Telstra is by far the most reliable for data & calls.
I took advantage of the Costco deal about a year ago at $100. At $100 it was merely a way to save money for us, as we have wifi at work and home.
It struggles on train, and whenever there is more than 5 people in an area… If I didn't have wifi at work, for example, I would definitely pay extra for Boost or Optus (perhaps)
Same sentiment as others.
Suggest getting a 28/35 day voda sim to trial it out if you do want to consider it.
Not worth risking being fixed into paying a 12 month service with patchy connections (mainly from crowded/busy areas + poor coverage - even though I am well within coverage area).

yep, people complaining about their own poor decisions. It's not like it a new revelation that network coverage varies between provider and that Vodafone has the worst coverage for many.
I've noticed lately they don't like you popping these in a 4g modem… works for a bit then drops most packets.
Not sure why you got the downvotes, you've provided good info. This is a mobile plan and not a data plan. When needing data, people often look to mobile plans instead of a data plan, usually because they are better value. The provider offers better value because they bank on the fact you're probably not going to use all the data when it's in a phone rather than a modem. Some providers restrict mobile sims from working properly in a dedicated modem and some don't, so like I said this is good info. Thanks.
can y adjust the ttl on modems?
i can have a look, but i suspect they've detected multiple devices off the one sim..it has worked for the past 3 yrs (it's my backup & holiday internet).
might be an at command but if y having drama that might well solve it (though they can also identify by imei)
Is it only for new customers, or existing ones too? I can’t find it anywhere.
starter packs are usually only for new customers. Generally you'll have to port out & in again. There's been plenty of cheap starter packs on other networks lately Optus/Amaysim/Telstra/Boost.
New customers unfortunately. Always the case for cheaper starter packs. Buy a cheap sim, move out and then back in.
So regret going with Vodafone. I actually though something was wrong with my phone the coverage is so patchy.
