Hi rice aficionados, what is your go to brand of basmati rice? I see a lot of options on the shelves from India and Pakistan and I've tried a few without noticeable differences in the past. Some are listed with 2g/100g of protein while most says 8g/100g. Cost also varies from $2/kg to >$4/kg.
Which one do you regularly buy and why? I'm tempted to get the bag the weird man with glasses doing the "it's al dente" gesture on it.

Same, so my go to is always the cheapest one. I'm sure there are different tastes (and the packs claim to have that) but it's a bit hard to notice against the pile of curry I'm eating it with.

I'm guessing you either mean the bunched "what are you talking about?" fingers or the chefs kiss? Never heard of an al dente gesture before.
I use anything on special in Indian shops/ green groceries, last time it was $8 for 5kg.

If you eat alot of rice then get any authentic rice 5kg bags on special / half price
Personally im happy with the woolworths branded ones but I dont eat alot of it.
Some say the aged rice is nicer but ˆcant tell the difference in taste.

Aldi or Woolies own brand Basmati for me.
Aldi variant tastes fine to me. 90 seconds in the microwave. Too easy.
