my last pair of TWS broke and looking for a new pair. I have tried and given away a couple budget TWS buds from Amazon but these seem to be the latest in the budget range.

like the person who posted in forums I prefer semi-open earbuds and I was waiting for Moondrop Block (~$30) to be shipped by Amazon but just found this review comparing to QCY Ailybuds and the Ailybuds look like they have way deeper bass.
I have seen other semi-open graphs before but pretty sure none of them showed this deep in the bass not even the new Nothing Ear (Open).

Link to graph in video: https://youtu.be/RgHcJaByIdY?si=LzO4XzeBVMOJ9vKe&t=450

also the Ailybuds have ANC which probably won’t be that strong because it’s semi-open but better than nothing probably good enough for cancelling fans and AC noise. I mean for semi-open earbuds this is a (new) Airpods 4 feature!

Ailybuds Pro+ also released recently in mid 2024 so I think the discount from $59.99 normal price is acceptable.

  • also I know there is the one bad faulty battery review.

but in my experience is 5 different $30-$40 TWS from Amazon and reading reviews is the fault can happen to any TWS. if it happens just unlucky get a refund. it is very common even with $300+ Sony TWS if you search the sonyheadphones reddit.

out of the 5 buds only 1 pair had faulty battery issue refunded. 1 I have been using for 2 years without issue, and 3 I gave away to parents and others who needed them they are still working well except for 1 pair which they put in the laundry and broke. 😂

on top of these I have one pair that refuses to break for 3+ years. the brand that got banned on amazon taotronics. their battery life has gone down a lot to like only 30 to 40 mins but it’s still consistent left and right.
the only problem I got about 2 years ago was one side became muffled sounding because of dirt or wax and even after cleaning it doesn’t improve. but I still use them as a spare pair when I don’t put them on for long such as in the morning.

I don’t mention the other brands because ever since taotroncs disappeared they seem to just rotate change brand names. I was happy with one pair then when going to look for it again it’s not available anymore. 💁‍♀️
QCY seems to be around for awhile now though like Soundpeats which is also popular now.

  • also worth mentioning JBL Wave Flex (beige colour) is almost half price on Prime right now $44.95. no ANC but also semi-open and claimed 8 hours of battery per charge. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/870088

I personally don't have these nor the Melobuds, but I've heard that the Melobuds would be better at this price point ($49 right now)?

Just opening the discussion as I'm in the market right now, since I woke up chewing my previous buds (QCY T13) and broke them lol

    • how the heck did your buds end up in your mouth? o.o

      • chewing his partners ear off

    • +1

Melobuds are in ear. if you have a closer look at the pictures of Ailybuds you will notice there is no silicone tip that goes in ear, so that's why I put Semi-open in the description/title.

many prefer the semi-open style because in ear's hurt their inner ear after awhile and in ears block a lot of sound which is good for ANC but bad for hearing things when you are walking down the street, or even in the house when someone calls out to you. I have always preferred and bought semi-open.

when I checked a month ago Ailybuds is the only semi-open model from QCY, all their other models are in ear.
Moondrop Block I mentioned in description and JBL Wave Flex I linked in comment above are also semi-open design.

      • Oh cheers I didn't even realise that there are subcategories/preferences for that sort of thing.

        • I mean not really subcategories. the main ones are there are old airpods style and new airpods pro style.

as you can probably see airpods pro style in ear is much more common. because they perform better overall in ANC and also bass. but the special thing about these Ailybuds in the deal are they have a lot of deep bass for semi-open's (old airpod style). which is why they are definitely on my wishlist of next upgrade.

btw was about to ask in forums WHY there is no amazon big deal day sale countdown. but sure enough it appeared at 48 hours left and now 27 hours left. gotta make a decision soon.. now considering the ear hugging type which is a brand new design by bose Ultra open ($300+). I've seen very similar design ones though on amazon, soundcore has one atm I think and I swear I saw another random TWS brand one. apparently for open earbuds these are just as comfortable as old airpods style and very very secure my main reason for wanting this is because I want to keep them in when I change clothes.
need to look at prices now.
here found the soundcore ones pricey: https://www.amazon.com.au/Soundcore-Headphones-Lightweight-F…

looked too expensive. there is this random $32 one but it looks very cheap and plasticky and uncomfy. reviews say so too. I am nowthinking of a pair with a cable that connects them, so if I put a shirt on and it pulls one out at least it doesn't drop to the floor. try to achieve it on a budget.

Isn't QCY melobuds pro better option for just $3 more:

They probably are but they are in ear design.

Not everyone's ears fit these types, myself included. I literally have to stickytape them to my ears from stopping them from falling out.

      • u are like me than, only option for me is Bose earbuds, there design is only ones fits my ear. try em you will like it.

        • do you mean the Bose Ultra Open earbuds the ones that hug your ear lobe? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841515

I just saw a review on them written by someone that looks as old as my mommy but she mentioned some great points about it.

she says they are just as comfortable as semi-open earbuds (like this deal) except they are secure and do not fall out. apparently even able to sleep in them if you are careful. only negative was the buttons, controls are a bit weird and need getting used to.

Ultra Open are pretty expensive even on sale, but plenty of budget brands are coming out with similar ear hugging designs. might consider them actually.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: I tried ultra open for like 1 week, they were nice and comfortable and sounded good too, but just not loud enough, I used them in shopping mall and even on 100% not loud enough. But I was referring to Bose QuietComfort gen 1 and ultra. Even though ultra dont have proper wings to cling to ear like gen 1 but i was surprise how snug-fit these were. Shape of Bose QuietComfort II and ultra is quiet same so i recently snagged 2 pair of Bose QuietComfort II for $90 each. I would be returning Bose ultra that bought from Bose directly.

    • Melobuds pro are really good. Better than Samsung buds pro. Hopefully they last a few years. Surprisingly they stay in my ears very well while staying very comfortable

      • Surprisingly they stay in my ears very well while staying very comfortable

apparently the airpods 3, 4 shape design of Ailybuds is more secure.

one downside I didn't mention to semi-open is they are less secure than in ear earbuds like Melobuds. with my old TWS I have occasionally tapped the controls and have the earbud loosen or fall. sometimes also couldn't be bothered to take them out when changing clothes which caused them to get lost in inside. 😂 but hopefully this newer shape is much better.

        • Toothbrush design is much more secure than round ball design. Maybe the added weight acts as an anchor. ANC is pretty weak compared to QC25 but can't complain for the price

          • @belongsinforums: yeah all mine so far have been semi-open toothbrush design. but the Ailybuds and Airpods 3 onwards have an angled shape and shorter stem. I think because of this they also stick out less so more secure.

  • Tried Earfun air, had a CES award. Returned them for multiple failures including failing to pair with app. Give em a miss.

    How are these in comparison.

    • +1

Different ear fit/design so decide what you’re more comfortable with. But to be honest I’m sure they’re shit.
QCY are surprisingly good, I bought T20 in December 2022 for about $30, love them and they’re still going strong in terms of battery life.

  • Go on AliExpress and get the realfit f2 pro for 7 bucks.

  • this was just recommended to me. it's not out in Australia yet but will be soon.

QCY is releasing open style just like Bose. they are called QCY Crossky C30. https://www.amazon.com.au/QCY-Crossky-C30-Headphones-Cancell…

they have a shiny look like jewellery so look very pretty. colours are white, black and purple.
not for sale yet but should be soon. $30 something US dollars so should be around $49.99. might be increased though for Aus like usually is, maybe $59.99 and $49.99 on early sale.

    • first QCY Crossky C30 open buds review is now on YouTube.

now I regret not choosing these Ailybuds pro from this deal on Big sale day.
because like most semi open buds the Crossky doesn’t have any deep bass like the Ailybuds do (and the Baseus sound looks terrible). I thought it would be close but clearly not.

the link to Ailybuds pro sound graph is in deal. I would choose better sound over not being able to fall out..
