Laptop Dilemma Gigabyte Aorus 17X Vs Lenovo Legion Pro 7

Hi all,

Just deciding between the two laptops.
The specs for the Auros are i9 13980HX + RTX 4080 + 16gb Ram

The legion specs are i9 13900HX + RTX 4080 + 16 GB ram.

Which one would you go for and why?

Thanks in advance.

  • Any particular reason to not go the Razer Blade 16? (edit: Nevermind, I can't even find a 4080 one anywhere)

With the Core Ultra 200 chips just about to come out I'd be tempted to wait. They're not that much more powerful, but they are a lot more efficient.

One problem with the 17X, according to reviews, is it blasts heat straight at your mouse hand. That and the display isn't great. I've used a legion pro 7 before and the monitor and the keyboard are top notch, pretty heavy though.

    • Thanks for the comment. I don't have any other options tbh. A friend is selling one of his laptops and I can choose which one. He's in another state, so I can't really trial them.

  • I’ve been very happy with my Legion. Excellent build quality so would go with Legion of the two (assuming no major price difference)

    • I’ve been very happy with my Legion.

Is it imported? If so, where did you get it from?

I'm looking for a foreign Legion.

  • +1

I've owned multiple lenovos and my friends have owned multiple gigabyte laptops.

No issues across the board. Both brands seem solid.

I would always check the notebookcheck review as they do very thorough reviews. Both laptops have good reviews, and importantly thermals seem good so youre not going to lose performance due to bad cooling or low TDPs on GPUs.

I'd compare all the other features (screen, body style, design, battery, weight) and make your choice depending on your needs. Or just pick the cheaper one!

If price and specs are the same…. i'd go with lenovo. Their build quality i feel is a touch better than gigabyte.

Post-sales support i've had to deal with both.

Gigabyte: Terrible. Worst company i've ever dealt with.
Lenovo: I've had two experiences. One was quick, and excellent, that was several years ago. The more recent experience this year however was shockingly poor.
