I remember when Amazon Japan first started shipping via Amazon AU, there were some incredible gundam deals back then.
I've been itching to get some more kits since the new Netflix show is coming up, so I went on Amazon but found none shipped from Amazon Japan. What happened?

Bandai patched up that loophole, probably.
That well dried up a few months ago. Now any Amazon JP bargains you see are unreliable if they ever even ship at all.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841061 - On 3rd revised delivery date already. My recent AU pre-orders pretty much all got cancelled. Well, it was nice while it lasted.
not sure what you mean but you do know 9/10 it’s cheaper to buy from Amazon JP directly.
just make an account on JP (you can use same email as AU), then afterwards add your address and payment method.
some items say “wont’ ship to your location” but usually it’s the ones that are listed on AU.
shipping costs don’t 1 + 2 + 3 + usually only charges you for the most expensive shipping costs and then tax added.
also if the shipping doesn’t look right, back out of checkout, then from cart click checkout again and it will be reduced. 🙂 I got $30 off shipping for a recent order this way.
Didn't know about combined shipping costs, might make a bulk buy worth it.
Do I need to add 5 more kits to by backlog tho?
sometimes like if you add few items, then back out of cart and add one more the system glitches I think and shipping becomes like double.
sometimes it can happen for other reasons so if it doesn’t look right just back out of check out and go straight to checkout again.also when I said tax it’s like got other fees included (like card fee) so it’s not just 10% extra like you think for a $100 order sometimes a few dollars extra because of fees.
also I mostly order smaller items so shipping might be cheaper overall compared to heavier items but you can always just have a try/look.for example most items I looked at recently were 4x the price on Amazon JP via AU, only 1/4 the price on JP direct and even with shipping costs it was still 1/2 the price (1:1 AUD to yen also helps here). also make sure to always buy fulfilled by Amazon at least. there are Shipped&Sold from 3rd party options sometimes cheaper but it’s a random seller in china not worth risk plus shipping might not be combined as total.
also not sure how much gundams cost but best is when yen drops. recently it dropped to 130yen per dollar so there was so much money to save buying from Japan. for example I saw G-shock watches (I looked at one of the most expensive) on eBay were like 60% off the lowest prices in Australia.
found it I looked at Rangeman $700-$800 in Aus, prices were $360-$380 brand new on eBay AU direct from JP from good rated JP sellers. I made sure the model numbers matched because I thought I made a mistake. they were going quick too like only 1, 2 left in stock with each listing.
Just had a quick look, and with a few exceptions coming from Amazon US, yes, they seem to have switched to AU
