XFX 1000W Black Edition Full-Modular PSU 80+ Platinum is showing as $189
Cheapest on StaticIce seems to be $279, so pretty good price I guess.

The vast majority of people wouldn't need even an 850W PSU, let alone 1250W. Still, pretty good for those who do.

  • How many watts do I need to run a GTX 570 OC?

    • Depends on your other components and depends if you plan to OC. 1000W is future proof for some serious OC'ing haha

    • Provided you only have one, and aren't overclocking your CPU, 550W - 600W should be fine.

    • Min good quality 550w psu with two 6pin

    • The full load on an i7 system with a GTX 570, even when paired with an older i7 Extreme 135W CPU (Ivy/Sandy are much lower), and measured from the wall, ie. taking PSU efficiency into account, is just over 350W or so. A quality 500W PSU would give you almost 150 watts of headroom for additional/different hardware, the increased power consumption from an OC unit, or perhaps a slightly less efficient PSU.
