XFX 1000W Black Edition Full-Modular PSU 80+ Platinum is showing as $189
Cheapest on StaticIce seems to be $279, so pretty good price I guess.
The vast majority of people wouldn't need even an 850W PSU, let alone 1250W. Still, pretty good for those who do.
How many watts do I need to run a GTX 570 OC?
Depends on your other components and depends if you plan to OC. 1000W is future proof for some serious OC'ing haha
Provided you only have one, and aren't overclocking your CPU, 550W - 600W should be fine.
Min good quality 550w psu with two 6pin
The full load on an i7 system with a GTX 570, even when paired with an older i7 Extreme 135W CPU (Ivy/Sandy are much lower), and measured from the wall, ie. taking PSU efficiency into account, is just over 350W or so. A quality 500W PSU would give you almost 150 watts of headroom for additional/different hardware, the increased power consumption from an OC unit, or perhaps a slightly less efficient PSU.
