  • Local Asian lady running business from garage charges $15 for men's basic hair cut.

Some of the barbers around my area, charge $40 plus and have no idea what they are doing.

Frickin idiots out there and to pay them for the mess they've done is what hurts the most lol.

My barber went from $40 per cut via a booking system (i.e. you enter the queue, you get whoever is free when it's your turn), to charging $70 to book a particular barber at a particular time (time is not guaranteed if the barber is running behind).

Needless to say they are no longer my barber.

        • Mine went from charging $20 to $30 to $35 and now $40 plus surcharge if paid with card. All in the span of 2 years. All that for the privilege of me telling them exactly what numbers to use and other stuff, for them to still mess it up. None of these “barbers” clean their equipment. I had to ask every time. I have ditched them since.

Going back on Whirlpool it seems they used to charge $23 for a basic cut…. in 2008.

    And $29 back in 2015

Seems like they charge $40 to $45 nowadays.

    • So $5 off an overinflated price. Probably takes 20 minutes, max 30 minutes for a cut. I should have done a barber course.

      • do you mean the staff isn't professional? more of a trainee or graduates? Never done my haircut there.

888 Salon in Hurstville charge $10.
Been using them for 2 years now and they do a decent job for me. I go every 4 to 6 weeks and use the same person

  • Pity Justcuts are massively overpriced these days.

I was curious how many points I had so I checked my app. I had a $10 voucher that expired 7 weeks after my last haircut, that they never notified me of via email, so I had no way of knowing I had a voucher that expires unless I checked an app I had no need of checking. Seems like they automatically give the $10 voucher the moment you get 350 points (which you'll reach after paying for a haircut), and give a voucher that'll expire before you'll need another haircut, unless you get one more frequently than 7 weeks, which I don't. So it's essentially worthless.

    • LOL someone at HQ came up with this. I wonder if this breaches some consumer law. Probably not.

I would if you can let somebody log into your app to use the voucher?

    • So you have to spend $350 to get a $10 voucher??
