I used to buy from Encel "always", 2 Loewe TVs (CRT (a planus and a profil plus, $2500 and $3500)), PVR, stands, speakers etc.
The Loewes are still going strong, and still look good IMO. However I think that as good as Loewe's designs are etc, they are way over priced against the well specced LCD LED and Plasma TVs. You got to do your homework before you go there if you hope to get a good price, let alone a bargain, and also deal with the right person, they can be full of Mr Uppitys!. After all 20% is not much really. Interesting rumour, Apple is believed to be in talks with Loewe to buy them out to produce their rumoured Apple TV (not the little box, a proper panel), due to their high standard of design and build.
Combine the famous apple tax with Made in Germany and you'd be lucky to get away without a second mortgage
Thats their plan!, and unfortunately, people will just line up yet again to buy them, and tell their 'friends' all about it.
Whats a second mortgage these days to people anyway, a lot of people I know (late 20s to mid 30s), without a thought as far as I can see just update their cars every couple of years and go on holidays on similar intervals all along having a 300k or so mortgage!.
