Klook Rejecting Best Price Guarantee Claims

Has anyone had any experience or success obtaining a price match with Klook?

It must be one of the most misleading price-beat guarantees ever as Klook appears to reject all claims at all costs.

The promise by Klook:

We’ll refund double the difference…if you find a cheaper price!

We know that one of the most important things for travellers is getting a fair price and not feeling ripped off. That’s why we constantly monitor our pricing to ensure that you get the best price available online and at your destination. We also make it a point to display honest pricing on all our deals, including all extra charges and taxes so you'll never have to worry about additional costs.

Reality - you may be ripped off if you believe the high-level claim:
I purchased a ticket to a Jetboat activity with the understanding that Klook would honour the best price - no worries. After purchasing, I discovered the provider was selling the same ticket for a much lower price.

I attempted to claim, and it was a different excuse each time…

Attempt #1: The lower price was from a third-party
Nope, it was from the provider, and they were not even selling the higher price charged by Klook.
Attempt #2: The lower price was obtained was not a retail price
Nope, it is the price on the provider's website
Attempt #3: The lower price was obtained using a promo code
Nope, the provider did not require a promo code to obtain the lower price
Attempt #4: The lower price was seasonal?
Yep, so what! Isn't the point of the discussion Klook guaranteed the best price available?

Don't bother to escalate the issue. Klook customer service is too disempowered to solve it.
Klook customer service just disconnects and sends you a feedback form saying how you feel about the service, and you start the process all over again.

  Is it refundable? If yes, just get refund and pay direct to provider. Vote with your wallet.

    Sadly, not - it was a last-minute purchase.

    100% agree - I will be voting with my wallet in the future!

    Also feel I did break an OzBargain rule - should have researched all the other options before purchasing!

  It's common knowledge that price beat guarantees are rubbish

  Look at Bunnings

    in the past I have used price beat guarantees with Bunnings (although haven't done it for years) and also Hilton Hotels honoured their beat it by 10% if you find it lower (found it on Hotels.com) and so did Centara resorts. Depends on the business and the terms

      Really? I'm surprised honestly.

      most of the stuff from bunnings are their own rebranded stuff so that's how they get around it because you can't get that exact brand elsewhere.

        if it is a brand that you can by anywhere and it is cheaper somewhere else they will price beat. We did that with both a mower and a shed years ago and saved hundreds of $$ and those things were on special somewhere else when it was price beaten, so double win at the time. Yes, of course there are many things that they now have their own brands for, but it can be done.

    Few months back, I was successful with Bunnings price beat for an item they happen to sell for $1 more than Harvey Norman. They did update their pricing straight after honouring my price beat though.
