Targeted at who? All current ING customers?

Perhaps people are leaving due to the sheer number of hoops they ask you to jump through for things that were previously included for free.

    • +1

Well certainly not targeted at me atleast =(

Half the 'hoops' get taken care of from my automatic bills each month anyway.

    • Hoops? I pay $1000 in per month, save some and spend the rest, not really hard labour 😂, I then get one of the best interest rates going,

      • +1

For some people growing the principal monthly) (principal+$0.01+eom ING interest) can be a problem. When you reach the $100K cutoff it's a pita.

  • +2

    Targeted at who??

They already provide 5.50% if you:

    • Deposit $1000 into your maximizer saving account monthly
    • The total balance must increase from month to month following the above
    • You must use your Orange Everyday debit card at least 5x that month no matter the amount spent.

This is the single reason I have moved all my savings from CommBank to ING and it does work beautifully, it is not a scam.
I have not received anything related to OP's claims which conflicts with the bonus they already have in place.

Commbank is the biggest scam, they offer the same but you must do a lot of crappy to receive what ING does as long as you do those basic things above.
I only keep my Commbank account because it is an old account, otherwise, they give you f all!!!

      One word: ubank

      • $500 deposit each month (which you can transfer back out immediately)
      • 5.5% for balances up to $100K

      Job done.

@liam2040: Still doing the dreaded 9 to 5 (Or in my annoying case, 10:30 to 7)

I dream of actual retirement money 🤣

    • what's with commbank? i just put a large sum into commbank netsaver. it will be 2, 3 months only. i need the 5.1% interest on 1/11.

  • +1

Can we just deposit the $1K, rather than have salary paid direct?

  • +2

Just got my $100 from the last deal! Fairly speedy

    • Hi MBix!

Thanks for sharing this! For your last deal, have you had to switch your payroll to ING or you could just deposit $1000 from one of your other bank accounts?

      Thanks!

      • +1

Same question - but knowing ING I presume we have to do it the proper way to get the $150, otherwise they come up with all sorts of reasons to reject the bonus.

        • +2

I didn't have to switch my payroll, just deposited from another account every month. I doubt they track where it came from :D

      • +2

Mine was payroll, but others have reported just $1000 deposits did the trick

        • Thank you. I guess the safest way would be to update my payroll then. It's annoying that ING only allows a max $1000 instant transfer everyday.

          • +2

@EdLaN99: $1000 daily limit on instant payments seems to have gone.

          • +5

@EdLaN99: ING daily OSKO limit has been raised to $5K. Changed some time in August iirc.

          • +1

@EdLaN99: Oh I see thanks folks! I haven't used ING for a while given that ubank has increased their interest rate to 5.5% too.

      • +1

I got the $100 without updating the payroll. I only transferred $1001 from my account with another bank and then sent it back, twice in two months.

        • Apple Pay transactions are ok ?
          Opened account on 9th sep.
Deposited 1100$ from my commbank on the same day and moved out the money on the same day.
Did mix of Apple Pay and debit card transactions by 24 sept.

          Bonus when hehe !😛

    • Hi Mate, did you deposit $1000 in and transferred it out?

      • Yes, you can do this.

  • +2

Never got anything from ING. Screw it.

  • +1

I've had this twice this year, but first time was $50, more recently $100.
Can't get my head around it, just giving money away.

  • activate your offer

    where?

    • the email has a link to activate the offer

  • +2

Thanks op, got the offer email that I would have otherwise likely missed.

  • My deal was for $100, I didn't get any emails but when I logged in I saw the offer on my dashboard.

    • +1

Doesn't seem to appear in my app. Maybe it's targeted towards less active accounts to encourage their use for more transactions.

      • I never use this account so that sounds plausible

  • @MBix, Hi Mate, did you deposit $1000 in and transferred it out?

    • Yeh I transferred out

      • Apple Pay transactions eligible for bonus ?

      • Cheers mate. I will give it a go.

  • Conpleted this bonus last month. Now there's a 6 month Menulog free delivery pass available.
    Cant complain about these offers.

    • Hi Dorge, did you change your payroll details with your employer or you just manually transferred $1000 into your ING account? Thanks!

      • I just transferred 1001 from a separate savings account that hadn't transferred before. Didn't mess with payroll.

  • I used ING for many many years and then changed bank when I got my home loan, and have hardly used my ING account for about a year and a half. I received this offer, the menu log offer and the refer a friend for $125.

At this point I almost feel bad for leaving ING lol they are just handing out the $$

  • +1

The company still owing me $100 from account opening

  • I got the offer. Sweet!

  • I don't have any accounts at the moment with ING. Should I open a new Orange Everyday & Saving Maximiser first, or should I wait till I receive a referral code and then open?

  • So, if I'm not a holder of a current (active) ING account, I need a referrer. If someone refers me, I should then use the code they supply to open my new Orange Everyday & Saving Maximiser, deposit $1000 and meet all the standard conditions and then I might in addition, qualify for the bonus cash. I should have kept my old accounts open, then I could have been the referrer, such is life.

    • +2

Pretty much. You will definitely get the referral bonus but not necessarily be targeted for this particular offer, which is $150 bonus for depositing $1000 each month for two months. And you might be lucky to get targeted next time they have such or similar offer.

  • +1

This year I’ve had 2 rounds of similar offer,
Deposit May+June got paid end June.
Deposit Aug+Sept got paid 8 October.
    Both offers $100 reward.
Easy Deposit $1000 from external bank, and straight out again.
    No need payroll bs.

    • Thanks for sharing! Not having to update the payroll is great!

      • +3

If you're just after the bonus it won't matter but hopefully you understand two significant things about your ING accounts:

        (1) The Everyday account - your transaction account - receives ZERO interest

        (2) The standard interest rate for the Savings Maximiser is 0.55%, calculated daily. To get the bonus 4.95% (total 5.5%) you need to meet the criteria they set out - $1000 monthly deposit, 5 settled card purchases, grow you SM account each month after ING interest (ie prev EOM balance + ING interest this month + $0.01).

As always, read and understand the terms. There is plenty of discussion on ING accounts and "hoops" in deals on this website. Just search for ING in deal titles and wade your way through. Bol.

      • +1

Should have mentioned that they (used to) waive the qualifying criteria for bonus interest for the first 1-2 months.

        • +1

Yea thanks @Igaf; I have stopped using ING for my savings since ubank has much fewer hoops and offers the same interest rate. I just wanna get that $150 cash haha

          • @EdLaN99: If they offer it, why not. I use both.

Did the fine print mention NEW accounts (V returning account holders)?

            • @Igaf:

Did the fine print mention NEW accounts (V returning account holders)?

For new accounts yes they definitely apply. But for returning accounts I am not so sure.

              • +1

@EdLaN99: I have this offer on a rarely used account that I have had for over 10 years.

  • How does the 2 consecutive months work? If I deposited $1k on the 11th October , do I deposit another $1k on the 1st November or does it need to be a month after the initial deposit?

    Thanks.
