[VIC] OzBargain 18th Birthday - Moonee Ponds Meetup at Will's Dumpling (7PM on Friday 8th November 2024)

Dear fellow OzBargain Comrades,

Can’t believe we are near the end of 2024; it seems like it was only a few months ago that we were at Wills Dumplings demolishing many plates of succulent Chinese meals.

To keep it short n sweet, it would be great to catchup with OzBargainers again at Wills Dumpling Moonee Ponds.

Last year was a good test for me to see how we would order food on the night, I ultimately decided to write up a set menu with a variety of dishes. The reason for doing this is to maintain budget, if everyone was to order their own dish, we would quickly go over budget and have too much food for everyone.

The feedback I received from everyone that attended last year was that there was plenty of food and a good variety. I will stick to the above-mentioned ordering scheme for this years event and I might try to bring some 2L soft drink bottles inside if the owner of the restaurant will let me, as the feedback I received from attendees last year is that there could have been more beverages. If anyone who attended last year had any other feedback on how we could make the event better, please PM me.

Booking under OzBargain (Big long table in the restaurant)

      Sorry @scixxor I am unavailable after the 14th November. I'd like to keep the 8th November locked in for now unless many people cannot attend.

      Yeah pretty much, Eat, Chat, Drink.
      Last year we had around 20 people come along to the event including Neil, which was great because we got to chat with him about OzBargain website, we exchanged our best deals we have ever had on the platform and discussed best deal of the year.

    Holy snaps! Wills Dumps is awesome. My now wife introduced me to it years ago and it's now our regular dumpling joint.

    Will need to see if the boss will release me for 1 nite. Such is the life with a 1 year old in tow.

    The last Melbourne meet-up I attended (a few years back now) was fun but bigger then I expected. Is there an "attendance cap"?

    Partner and I are both OzBargainers but we have no one to babysit our 1yo if we both come. Is it possible to bring her and BYO food for her? She's a fussy eater anyway and will be much more interested in a snack box of berries than the restaurant's food.

      I originally had allowed for children to attend the event in the event post above however the community brought to my attention that as per the ozbargain 18th birthday post, children are now not allowed to attend any ozbargain events, I had to update my event page to be in line with the new requirements.
