      People who enjoy photography and use there cameras more than once or twice a year? I have about 7 grand worth of gear to get action shots of my kids playing sports, and bird photography. Some people find it relaxing and enjoyable without needing to make money from it.

      • +1

        Exactly! I use my camera 2-3 times a week at least for photos and videos.

    • Amateur photographer here. Not a pro. I would buy it if I wanted to upgrade my Z6II.

      • What would be the compelling reason to upgrade from the Z6 II? This is already a very capable model.

        • +1

          Purely from specs:
          * Better AF (more reliable)
          * Better viewfinder (Nikon's best)
          * Faster sensor (less rolling shutter/banding)
          * Higher video specs (NRaw, Apple ProRes, 120FPS)
          * Nikon Cloud options

          For video or hybrid shooters the new model is superior.

          For photography there's not much apart from improved AF. If your subjects are static the Z6II is actually better!

          • @roberte: We all know that the Z6III has better specs than the Z6II but the question was directed to stuffandthat. It all depends on what use case you want to use the camera for whether it is worthwhile the expense of upgrading.

    • Can you see the difference between the below and what a phone camera makes?

      • Yes, I can, having owned a K10D, 450D, D700, A6000, EM5-II and now the rarely used E-M1-II. For most people these days though, the real question is: how good of a camera do you need for Facebook/Instagram?

        • +3

          The people buying these cameras aren't buying them for Facebook or Instagram

        • +1

          Only one brand twice! Must be hard to keep up with the glass.

    • +2

      It's kind of the other way around from your thinking, expensive cameras like these are what is left of the market because there is less setting cheaper/smaller cameras apart from smartphones these days.

  • Price has gone up to $3699. 🙁

    • yeah :(
      but, it was 3514 yesterday..
