I was in the market for a wet/dry vacuum that did both in one sweep. Very well reviewed, I pulled the trigger on this.

About this item
1.CLEAN AND STEAM FLOORS IN ONE STEP – Cut your cleaning time in half with the FLOOR ONE S5 STEAM! Featuring Tineco’s proprietary iLoop Smart Sensor Technology, this advanced cleaner automatically adjusts suction power, brush roller speed, and water flow for incredibly efficient cleaning.
2.TACKLES STUCK-ON MESSES – The high temperature steam melts away stuck-on grease and stains. A soft roller gently cleans the floor with fresh water, providing a thorough clean with ease.
3.CONTINUOUS FRESH WATER CLEANING – The dual-tank system keeps clean and dirty water separate for continuous cleaning with fresh water. No more pushing around dirty water like with a traditional mop.
4.STEAM SELF-CLEANING FOR ODOR-FREE MAINTENANCE – High temperature steam emanates to also clean and sanitize the brush head after use. The process is odor-free, hands-free, and quick-drying.
5.UNINTERRUPTED CLEANING WITH BIGGER TANKS - Higher capacity clean and dirty water tanks allow you to clean larger areas without interruption.

Unfortunately have a bad experience with Tineco and its battery. There are many posts online on this as well, and it would stop charging and fail to hold charge.

You won’t have any bad experience with battery on this one because it’s corded.

    • You wouldn't want a battery operated Steam model anyway.. they don't last very long. This one is corded and the best one I've had over the years - I've tried at least 6 or 7 different ones.

    • I've had an s3 which I recommended Tineco to everyone when it started… Then the performance just went down. Charger port rusted which is a very common issue if you look on reddit. Godfreys took 9 weeks to get it back to me. Even with a new motor, it would just push around my hair on tiles. Got a Dreame from Amazon and so far it's been great.

  • Been looking at the Tineco Floor ONE S6 https://amzn.asia/d/ilW5Pxg.
Slightly more expensive but looks better for my hybrid flooring. Are there any other recommendations? Noting the negative battery experience.

    • Its corded. I got hybrid flooring as well and went for this one. I compared the two and a lot of reviews say the Tineco ONE S5 STEAM is better in terms of suction, not having a battery. Sus the youtube link in the description.

      • Cheers for the quick reply.
Just to confirm, you use the steam on hybrid flooring? My understanding was not to use high temperature steaming on these types of floors? Can you use the S5 just as a wet vac and not steam?

        • I would just use the S5 for that case, its also on a good deal

    • I bought on of these last month with the 20% off code (it was $70 more than this price) and I have used it 3 times. I got this one as it can go close to the wall on both edges, plus a few other features (don't really care that it talks to me, or shows me how much is sucking up).

So far it has been good. Cleans well on both my hardwood and low pile rugs.

The reviews on these Tineco's focus mainly on cleaning up spills, but I use it as a replacement to mob the floor once a week, which makes the job a lot easier. Cleaning it at the end of the job only takes a minute as it does the self cleaning as well.

I still use my Dyson stick for general dry vacuuming as you don't need to clean it after every use.

    • Oh i have this, we have laminate flooring and it has been fantastic.

It leaves very little water behind, so doesnt damage the laminate at all. Saves me from having to vacuum and mop with a 220-ish sqm house and two little kids + dog who has free access to the yard (alot of dirt and crumbs lol)

Does the whole house on one charge and self cleans too. Definitely recommend it, no issues on battery. Bought early august 2024 so not super long yet.

  • Is a Wet-Dry Vacuum better than a Robot Vacuum with rotating mop pads?

    • Aren't Robo Vacuum designed for light cleaning?

    • All a robot vacuum does with mop pads is gently make ur floor wet by gliding the pads across, it does nothing for cleaning. If you want a proper mop clean, get urself one of these that can steam at the same time.

  • do you guys use disinfectant floor cleaner with your Tineco? i would like to but unsure if its gonna cause issue.

    • Steam cleaning is a form of disinfecting. Although there are some non soapy floor cleaners which should be safe for devices like this.

    • You could spray / mist some liquid onto the floor as you go, just ahead of the roller. Don't add anything other than filtered water to the clean water tank.

    • I use the Bissell crosswave disinfecting formula since it's both mop machines. I was told not to let it absorb straight cleaners off the floor as the chemicals can still deteriorate the machine where it gets sucked in

  • From the Amazon description:

Featuring Tineco’s proprietary iLoop Smart Sensor Technology, this advanced cleaner automatically adjusts suction power, brush roller speed, and water flow for incredibly efficient cleaning.

Does it actually do this, or is it marketing puffery?

It does work increasing the power when dirty but it does this with an optical sensor in the return water path so it sometimes is delayed with the suction power increase as the dirt takes a bit of time to be detected.

      • Thanks!

If you end up getting one, I recommend at the end of the cleaning job running the self clean twice, then remove all roller, cover and dirty tank and filter. Clean the cover and dirty tank. Leave disassembled until dry. Wipe the cleaning station as it pools some water.

Never have issues with smell this way.

          • +1

@Rajserp: I just run it once, remove and rinse all parts except the roller and vac filter. Let them air dry before assembling again. I just leave the roller in the vertical holder on the stand until it dries. No smells here either.

I'm surprised that people leave dirty water in a device and then wonder why it smells. Talk about dumb. The instructions clearly say to not leave the product assembled when dirty and/or wet.

Although it works fine, I honestly I don't think it's worth the money. I would just buy a much cheaper regular steam mop instead.

Came to OzB to post this deal. I have the device. This is a great price for a good unit.

  • Ordered. Are there generic filters etc to get from aliexpress (or similar)?
