I got a turntable ATLP60X for $30 from CC. I now can't buy a secondhand metal record for $30. It is like printer for 30 bucks, ink starts from 50 bucks.

  You have to remember the vinyl press has not had any modernisation/improvements since the 70s. It is operated by a human not a computer and is still very much a niche market.
  
  Add in the weight to ship it around the world and you get a very expensive product.
  
  But unfortunately even if production cost drops the savings will go to the record companies not the consumers.
  
  Just look at cd's. A new album on cd is close to $30

      Vinyl is a total frustration. I did dispose my printer and use only OW printers, it is cheaper than buying printer ink.

  If your FLACs are on a solid state drive, that drive will eventually fail. Likewise if its on a ferromagnetic hard drive.
  
  If its on CD, the laser diode on your CD player will eventually fail. CDs also have problems with the metal delaminating from the plastic disc.
  
  Vinyl will degrade, eventually, with extended use, but subject to that it can potentially last forever. If you want your music to survive the zombie apocalypse, then its probably your preferred choice.

  That's the one I went with a while back when I was desperately trying to find an affordable turntable (that wasn't the same cheap mechanism that destroys records but in different more expensive housings). Got mine as a "refurbished" one (it was new in box, probably just a return, absolutely mint). Love it. Didn't think I would use the bluetooth much but it has been really nice for when I want to listen to a record late at night or otherwise don't want to bother people with my music, just sync it to my headphones or a bluetooth receiver on my PC's audio input.

Just received my orders, talk about over packing, all the records were individually packaged and than placed in another massive box.

Not complaining as the records were in perfect condition with no dented corners.

Pink Floyd the wall and dsotm both were gatefolds and the quality of the cover is very close to the original pressings I have. Very happy with the buy.

Curious to hear if anyone has experienced the same that the order has arrived in country but is considered “not shipped”?

Per Amazon tracking, 4 of the LPs I ordered have arrived in Australia and the “Package was transferred to a another carrier for delivery” on Sat, 19 Oct. No further movement since 19 Oct I might add.

However, on my order page, it states that “Delayed, not yet shipped – We will email you as soon as this order ships, and we won’t charge you until then. We apologise for the inconvenience.” Upon refreshing the page, I get prompted by another message that “We are very sorry that your delivery is late. If you have not received your package by today, you can come back here the next day for a refund”.

Does anyone know what is behind it all? And if I will get the LPs I ordered? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I have two that is coming from the US and is being fulfilled by australia post/startrack. I got notification from australia post that they will be shipping it but no exact dates.

the rest of them came from amazon au directly and I have received 5 of the 7 I ordered.

just realised I still have one that is yet to ship and has no dates.
