Only if you're going to see the 3d version. The standard price for a non-3d movie is $19 for a single adult.

        • +11

Uh no, I'm pretty sure I get to decide if I see the 3D version or not. Thanks anyway.

        • +2

A deal is a deal no argument there.

I do doubt you would decide for yourself to miss out on most probably your first opportunity to experience 4K & 48/fps.

        • Agreed.. this movie is meant to be seen in a special way. However, not everyone cares or can - there there will be low turnout at such alternative screenings, so distributor and Swisse agreed to fill seats using this promotion. Makes sense.

      • positive coz your right but negative for the price of movies in this country

    • fanx

    • +2

You mean it's not free for yourself. Stop speaking for others - for example I don't watch in 3D if I'm able to choose.

This may be useful, thanks OP.

      • -1

I hate 3D it gives me a headache and I really don't see the point in wearing those cheap plastics glasses that are only passive 3D. If I wanted to watch something in 3D I'd buy an active 3D TV but that's not gonna happen until the price is no different than 2D because I honestly don't care that much. Just saying not everyone cares about 3D

      • Does anybody know where to find the "receipt number" required for the entry form?

    • doesnt matter if your want to watch in 3d you can pay the surcharge as you normally do and your still saving. 3d makes my eyes and head hurt very quickly. my first 3d was the last saw movie, it felt like bits of flesh were going to hit my face, probably the worse movie to see in 3d for first timer unless your into that .. yuck! after 5 mins i needed to take the glasses off and they were on and off the whole time i had a headache and felt sick from 3d so i would prefer 2d.

  • Don't other stores have 50% off Swisse at the moment?

    • Unfortunately, only purchases from Priceline are valid.

  • The Hobbit was actually filmed in 3D so you will be missing out if you don't upgrade unlike some other movies that are not worth the eye strain :/

    • +5

If like me you have eyes that have different strengths, you'll take the reduced quality over the end-of-film headache.

        http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e9b4/

I've heard of this product, seems like a great solution to see it in 4k and 48fps while watching it in 2d.

      • +1

I have very good eyesight, I can just feel the stress on my eyes. Hubby has carp eyesight & doesn't go for 3D anymore but we looked this up before booking his ticket & it is definitely going to be worth seeing in 3D :D

        • +2

i have perfect vision but still hurts my eyes and gives me a headache and dizzy.

      • +2

The high frame rate filming really solidifies the 3D illusion, and greatly reduces the headache problem for many people, Jackson says. You might consider trying the HFR 3D session.

      • +1

It's extremely common to have a variation between eyes. Here is just some of the info about why you're actually getting headaches.

  • Let's hope there is a Swisse sale at Priceline before 7th Jan ;-)

geesh…just bought swisse sleep at terry white's a couple of days ago…hope i don't lose sleep thinking about this deal

  • +6

kinda doubting the effectiveness of these vitamins after Pontings last few innings.

    • +2

it's had the same 'ineffectiveness' on Webber all season as well. Although he did win a couple, but i put that down to him forgetting to take them on those days :)
Also didn't seem to do our Olympic team any favours.

    • +3

Good thing he made the majority of his 13,000 runs before he was endorsed by swisse then.

    • … that's why government forces these companies to state the caveat that "supplements only useful if deficient" in their advertisements. Of course, it's in such tiny font that no-one actually notices and government (satisfied that it's done its due diligence) gets corporate tax revenue out of it - everyone wins.

    • Have a quick search around the net, and you'll see the industry is finally having to justify their decades of claims, with real evidence. There's a lot of studies showing it's all "on paper", the body doesn't magically process vitamins/minerals the same as in their natural format. I find the supplement wording a chuckle… Wording like "clinically tested". Yeah… Tested, not proven.
Anyway, seeing the hobbit for less than $10 is epic. Magic pills, here I come!

You can see it in 48 frames as well. Certain cinemas will be showing it, I know Doncaster (Vic) will be for certain sessions.

  • +2

They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!

  • +1

Great deal, just a shame that you can't email in the form/receipt (scanned).

    • +1 Or even faxed (using a free fax service). I guess they want to collect the physical receipt and prevent you from using it again, then they'd have to check for dupes.

This may not be relevant for this specific deal but for those interested this is the full list of cinemas australia wide that are offering 48fps screenings. (This isn't separated by state but by alphabetical order).

Swisse Mood…Get it for the wife, watch the movie and she'll be agreeable when you return.

    I'll take FIVE please.

  • When is the actual movie ticket given out? If entries close on Jan 21, would it be after that?

    • From the description at top:

-Validated entries will be emailed a unique code. Go to www.swissemovies.com.au and type in the code (before 4th Feb) and print out the voucher.
-Vouchers can only be redeemed through the ticketbox at Village Cinemas and can be redeemed through the ticketbox or online at www.hoyts.com.au and www.eventcinemas.com.au

You don't have to wait until Jan 21 to submit your entry. In fact you should do it as soon as possible in case the film ends sooner. You don't get a ticket, you get a code by email, you put that into the promotion website, then you get a voucher to print which you can take to the cinema (or order a ticket online). Pretty convoluted.

      • I have submitted and mailed mine and a few days later I got an email from swisse with a code. You go to the specified website, enter the code, and you get a pdf voucher with 3 barcodes on it - from village, event and hoyts I think, which you can take to any of these cinemas and purchase a ticket, just like movie money.

  • I bought 4 Swesse products from priceline in one receipt. Can I use 4 vouchers with this receipt? The entry form said: "Maximum 5 tickets per person. To redeem a ticket, customers are to complete the entry form and mail with ORIGINAL receipt to…." Does anyone know if voucher requires 1 receipt each or can I use the 1 receipt with 4 products for the 4 entry forms?

    • Just to be safe, you should email or call them. But I would assume that since it says 'max 5 per person', one receipt is allowed. What I would do is along with the receipt and entry form, include a note saying "I bought 4 Swisse products as shown on the receipt, hence 4 vouchers for me please" in case they miss seeing the quantity.

      • Yeah I wasn't sure so I asked the cashier at Priceline if they knew anything about it…and they were like, to be safe, they ran it up in 2 separate transactions (for 2 tickets).

  • Has someone worked out which part of the receipt is the receipt number (required on the form)? I see a field that starts with C (probably cashier number), a field that starts with # (receipt number?), a field that starts with S, and a field that starts with R (register number?).

    • +1

Well I had two receipts which showed sequential numbers so I used them - I don't think it matters all that much though, they'll have the receipt anyway.

      • I don't want them finding a reason to invalidate the entry. ;) Do you remember how many digits your receipt number was?

        • Yeah it was four numbers, and I just received my vouchers via email today so obviously worked!

        • Thanks!

  • We have to work a little bit more now to get our cheap movie tickets :D

  • Should one want to see it in 3d 48fps, then one could present their 2D ticket and simply pay for the upgrade (whatever the cost is over & above $19 value of the ticket)? Or am I reading OP's post incorrectly?

    • Yeah, that's how I read the T&C on the site:

The voucher is valid for one adult to a general admission screening of the movie THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY including those designated as No Free Ticket sessions up to the value of $19.00. Voucher price excludes 3D/Real D and VMAX surcharge which is in addition to the ticket price and payable by the consumer where applicable. The voucher is valid for a single use only. Any costs in excess of $19.00 must be covered by the consumer.

  • 40% off Swisse vitamins at priceline today only

  • Has anyone mananged to book online with event cinemas? I have been stumped for days how to use these vouchers with their online system. I emailed the promotors, and they just linked me to the terms and conditions.

    Help would be appreciated :D!

  • Does anybody know where to find the "receipt number" required for the entry form?
Edit: found some info on facebook here https://www.facebook.com/CovergirlAU/posts/10150568013184523
looks like the it is the 4 digit number with a hash in front i.e. #1234

    • Correct - I did that and they accepted it.

  • Finally got mine. I was worried they might have misread my email address.

I mention as an aside that at Event cinemas the system has changed. I found out when I went to see Les Miz last night. You have to take print at home tickets to the counter first, though you can use the express queue. In the past you could scan your tickets at the automatic usher at the barrier. I don't know if the recent promo debacle had anything to do with this, or too many people forgot to or didn't scan.

    • That automatic machine at the entrance was just a trial they were having, it might return in the future.

  • still waiting for my tickets hope they come soon

  • Just saw some upcoming discounts on Swisse products at Priceline this Thursday 3/1/13
    Eg. Men's & Women's multivitamins 120 tabs $29.99 each (40% off ~ $20 saving)
    Vitamin D 250 caps $9.99 (50% off ~ $10 saving)

    As per catalogue: http://priceline.dynamiccatalogue.com.au/home.html

  • still waiting for mine…

    • Check the spam folder?

      • yupe, twice a day, still nothing :(

  • bloody slow to send the tickets and I want to see this film soon

  • Just received one ticket in my email, waiting for another in different email hope it comes soon.

  • Received one email, waiting on two more ;), they were sent at different days.

  • I sent both letters the same day. Was hoping the other would come through today so I could see it on the weekend and it has not :. Bit of a pain this promotion.

  • anyone having trouble trying to book tickets online with Hoyts? It keeps coming up with an error for me. Will actually have to go to the cinema to book I think

    • Still not working online but redeemed at the box office no probs

      • Did you watch 3D HFR? Did they have a surcharge??

I discovered the other day that I can watch 3D with no surcharge at Hoyts, by buying an Optus voucher, booking online, and printing tickets at the self service machine. Wondering if these Hobbit tickets will work like that too. Though still waiting for my other one :\

        • no normal as I'd already seen it in HFR, I would say they would though as the voucher is only for prices up to $19

  • Nothing again today. Hope it has not been lost in the mail…

    • nothing in the mail and in my email too….

  • +1

I am about ready to ring them, they both should have came through the same day.

  • They have not responded to my email 2 days ago, just called and their lines are backed up and taking messages. Really poor promotion. Wanted to see this movie on the weekend.
