Abuse or Limit to a Stores Glitch on Gift Cards?

So wondering if I can get some insight from members if I could be in breach of laws and should I limit it or take full advantage of a gift card special?

I uncovered a glitch with a small to medium sized retailer that at times offers discounts on gift cards. But they allow you to buy gift cards with gift cards, their fine print has zero clauses to not allow it too.

Would you do the OzBargain thing and get as much freebies as possible, limit it to just a bit or play it safe so they don't patch it or don't do it at all?

I guess legally if they don't say you can't buy gift cards with gift cards, and offer them at a discount, you haven't done anything that breaks their T&Cs.

But morally its wrong and but you knew that already, hence the question seeking approval from strangers. It is stealing and not for a mega chain, but from a smaller retailer. It could be classed as fraud, and the retail may invalidate your giftcard with no refund when uncovered.

      and risk a chargeback? lol

What chargeback? The OP would have 'redeemed' the giftcard purchased using the credit card to buy more gift cards at a discounted rate.

So there is no chargeback path, as the gift card purchased by the OP using the credit card, was redeemed in full and the retailer could prove that.

Take advantage of it Don't post the glitch online nor tell any of your friends.

I wouldn't post anything about it here if you want it to keep working.

  • Don't tell anyone.
