Recommendations for a New Door Bell ?

Hi, can anyone suggest a good Door Bell?

With or without a camera, I'm trying to decide which one would make more sense. I have a Dahua camera outside so I'm think there might be no point in getting a doorbell with a camera.

I had a look at some options in Bunnings they are all badly rated. Would need one that can ring in two rooms at least, house is quite long.

    If your camera has motion alerts / always-on recording then you probably won't need a video doorbell

    But video doorbells are usually Wifi-connected so you will receive a notification on your phone or tablet when the doorbell button is pressed. All doorbell cameras have this feature as standard and don't need a monthly fee to use. They'll typically also allow 2-way conversation so you can speak to the person at your door (like an Intercom).

      with video doorbells Ive heard many people complain about receiving the alert too late

        I noticed mine was delayed when I had poor WiFi Coverage at the front of the house. When I put in a new access point at the front, it was faster and better which pretty much being real time.

    i got my parents this one, comes with 2 plugs (have one upstairs and one downstairs)

        Yep.. and they’re loud AF. Only issue, if there’s kids involved, is when they find out that you can change the melody, they sit there for ages cycling through them

    I still haven't put a doorbell on my house after years, can't find something nice - all the camera models look plasticky, I'd like something with a solid metal finish, perhaps stainless. Was thinking of getting a standard bell and getting a custom enclosure made but seems like there should be something out there in 2024?

    I've got a basic rechargeable Ring with video drom Bunnings - cheap and so far so good after four years. My Australia Post guy knows ro wait a few seconds if there is a delay in answering from the office.

    Never owned or lived in a house with a door bell.

    Maybe a sign saying knock harder if i dont come to the door?

    Another option big front fence with razer wire to deter people from visiting maybe a couple of guard dogs?

    Cut all ties to family and friends?

      haha .. the thing is ..I have a glass panel next to the door and people end up knocking on the glass .. i want to avoid that
