Hey all
Hoping there are a few people on here that are virtual pinball aficionados and can help point me in the right direction. I have an older Sharpin cabinet that is single screen and was running on a GT King Android box. I have decided to build a new bartop cabinet that will have a Dell G3223Q 4K monitor as the playfield with a second and third monitor acting as the backglass and dedicated DMD. The monitor that will be the backglass will run at 1080P as will the third smaller screen for the DMD. I am not going for a bells and whistles setup based on a 43" playfield which mimics an actual table.
This cabinet will only be used for pinball, the majority will be VPX with a bit of Future Pinball for some Terry Red tables. So what I am looking for is advice on what hardware would be ideal to achieve what I want without going top end. From some basic reading around and advice from a couple of Discord channels some have said the following would allow for playing at 4K without too much stress and strain:
Nvidia GeForce 3070
i5 12600 CPU (which one though - 12600, 12600K or 12600KF)
Then I get a bit lost on what motherboard, RAM, SSD, PSU as this stuff has all moved on heaps since I last purchased components to build a system. I don't need a case as the whole thing will naturally be removed and mounted inside the cabinet. I see a lot of posts on OzB about PC component deals, loads of chat about pros and cons, most of which goes over my head.
Would welcome any pointers for what they would deem a decent enough combo for what I am trying to do. At the end of the day, its about being able to fire up the table and play without going overboard and latest cutting edge tech.
Cheers
