umm confused, what is the app used for? paying in cafes?

    • +2

      Yes that is correct.
I normally pop through the transaction as i walk to the cafe. Saves those few minutes of waiting.

This deal just makes it much better if you're a regular coffee drinker.

      • +1

How do you know where it's accepted?

  • Helping with cost of living crisis with $2 off that is very patronising.

    • +11

% wise of the coffee itself it ain’t bad though, but the way they messaged it could have been better

    • +3

      okay snowflake

    • +18

Complaining about the cost of living crisis, while buying takeaway coffee and lunch, could also be considered very patronising

      • And a self fulfilling prophecy

      • -2

        The Entitled generation

      • while buying $5 coffee, cuz the $1 or instant stuff isn't good enuf….

    • +2

Dunno, if you buying a 5$ coffee most days, $2 off each time is pretty solid

    • Its almost half price takeaway coffee depending on where you buy from. If you don't want it, make yourself an instant coffee in the work kitchen.

  • Can we use mastercard prepaid cards?

  • +3

Max 21 Orders per week. lol

    • +7

That's fair enough, average 3 orders for day. No room to misuse the deal.

      • +1

Exactly. Paying the cafe for my bagel in increments of 3 coffee purchases did cross my mind :-)

  • +20

To reduce the cost of living you should bring lunch and coffee from home.

    • +3

Or buy satchels and add hot water…

      • -2

Or tighten your belts as they've been saying over and over for months already, our loving government…

Tighten to the spine ey our supreme leaders? What's the problem? Cooking up and sustaining world conflicts isn't profitable any more, gotta squeeze someone?

    • -1

Tip: bakery stuff like muffins, cookies etc.

  • -2

I created new account and tried ordering, but can't see offer applied at checkout.

    • +1

Make sure Click to pay is your payment method

      • Got it. Thanks

  • -1

The bizarre thing is, you end up paying the usual if you pay cash for coffee at those accepting Skip.

Which is kinda funny considering lots of shops charge a fee for using a Card.

    • The bizarre thing is your comment is kinda funny

  • Pretty decent deal for coffee especially if you have a local close by that uses Skip.

  • +1

Is there a directory of business accepts skip?

    • You can download the app and it will show you venues around you without logging in or putting any details

I have hardly any around me

      • Thanks. I found 2 cafes around my workplace, however they don’t have great coffee.

  • +3

Wow, Skip App still survives after so many years. I still remember last time been creating new accounts to get free coffee (no size restriction)

    • I've been proudly using the Skip app since 2015. It's been on my home screen that entire time. Great product to survive the Sensis / Yellow Pages downfall.

  • Surprise this app still around. I used to get lot of good deals with them back in 2018-19. Good when my fav coffee shop is near work.

  • +1

does not work. screen turns to white on checkout after finalising payment. Tried with 2 different mobile

    • Yes same issue for me, reinstalling app didn’t seem to help either

      • did you raise it with their support

        • Yeah raised a ticket

    • Same issue .

    • Tried again today, still same issue.

    • Had the issue earlier today, but I tried again a little later and it started working. Not sure if anything changed…

      • +1

This is the response I got from Skip

We've identified a bug on Mastercard's side that is affecting some users. Since the issue is on their end, we can't resolve it directly, but we’ve reported it to them. Please allow 3-5 business days for a resolution.

They then gave me a coupon code to use in the meantime.

    • I had this problem too. Ended up making a click to pay “profile” (through the what is click to pay link on the payment page). Once a card was added, it showed up on checkout and I had to verify via text, then my order finally went through with no blank screen

  • -6

2$!yes finally I can pay my rent now. This is a joke!

    • +2

It's all relative. This is 40-50% off every cup of coffee or food item. If you drink coffee every weekday then you are saving at least $10 a week, up to a maximum of $42 a week.

  • Is this a cashback or does the app deduct $2 off at the payment stage?

  • What an offer. Hats off to Skip and Mastercard. It's 40% off everyday on coffee for the next 3 months.

  • Can someone would be kind enough to tell me or screenshot the map around Perth? Don't really want to download the app just to check…

  • +1

    App location services is borked?

    • +1

My one doesn't work. Honestly it's been a terrible app experience. I can't get the discount to show up either.

  • Looks like good option but SA has limited choices.

    • Not just for coffee…

  • Pretty good deal but not many Skip locations in my area or work areas…

  • +1

Not sure what the point is of this click to pay as you have to verify your mobile each day vs just checking out.

Seems like a pointless system to me.

    • +1

Yeh it's pointless at the moment. Don't know if it is Skip's or Mastercard's fault but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to remember our device and not verify us every time.

  • Doesn’t work

    • whats not working i have used it everyday this week. Almost at my 21

      • The discount doesn’t show at the order page

  • Discount showed up today but charged full price

    • did you use click to pay

      • Yes and it glitched, customer service is refusing to refund $2 and I took a print screen because I had a feeling they wouldn’t honour it.

  • Discount doesnt show up for me either. Doesn't look to be working correctly / at all.

    • Don’t bother. Even if it shows up and you have a print screen of the promotion that you added the code, they refuse to credit you the difference.

      • +1

There support team was really good i found. It started working for me, but they gave me a promo code to use in the mean time until it started working again (issue on mastercard side).

  • +1

    It’s working

  • +1

Tried first order today and it worked. It’s been a long time since I used Skip. There’s way less venues than they’re used to be and what’s this service charge? As long as $2 off is less than the menu price with service charge, it’s still a small saving.

  • I couldn't get the $2 off to show at the order page…
