Cheapest Fitness Tracker to Accumulate AIA Vitality Points

Just signed up to GMHBA. Looked at the app and I apparently need a fitness tracker.

Have zero interest in them (I don't need a watch to tell me I had a crap sleep …I have those sensors already built in)!

But ..need to play the game to get points.

So wondering the cheapest way to adhere to the AIA requirements (can I just use apps on my phone)?

Cheers

You could try downloading the Google Fit / Samsung Health app and then doing some workouts on it without a wearable and see if those points count towards your AIA Vitality account.

On Samsung Health you can start a walking or running workout without having to link up a smartwatch, it just uses the phone's accelerometer and GPS to count steps (there will be no heart rate data obviously).

If it doesn't work then you might have to spend maybe $50~$100 on a fitness band of some sort, e.g Huawei Band 8 (uses Huawei Health), Samsung Galaxy Fit3 (uses Samsung Health) or Garmin Vivofit 4

Please note: AIA Vitality only supports activity tracked directly from:
    - Apple Health
    - Google Fit
    - Strava
    - Samsung Health app
    - Fitbit
    - Peloton (Peloton Free app not included)
    - Garmin
    - Polar devices

Due to potential data integrity issues with third party devices, activity tracked by any other third party device, (even if linked to any of the apps listed), is not supported and cannot be used to earn AIA Vitality Points.

    • If you have a dog and use Google Fit on android phone for example, you could put the phone on the dog and let it run for you if you are feeling lazy :P …

  • App on your phone should work fine without a seperate device.

  • You can get a swing for your phone from aliexpress to generate steps if you don’t hit the goal during the day

    • Or use your dog if you have a dog …
