Hi all!

Second post so go easy on me!

Posting this Samsung T9 4TB, delivered via Amazon US, as the price is pretty damn good.

According to Camel, the lowest price ever was $467.75, way back in February. The average is $571.39, and it's going for $949 at JB and $969 at Officeworks, some places are $800 to $900.

So $485.19 delivered is, in my mind, a good price, if you are after a traditional (non-NVMe) SSD that is pretty fast (transfer speeds up to 2,000MB/s) and shock-proof up to three metres (rounded up slightly from 9.8 feet).

Less than $20 off the lowest-ever price! Someone did post this SSD for around $450 at the start of the year, though (bundled with something else). I personally have this SSD and it's a dream to use.

Hope that someone finds this useful.

Considering it's over $800 on static ice. Good find for a 2nd post!

Thank you! Yeah, it's a very decent price, I'm tempted to pick up a second. Not as fast as NVMe, but again, many people just want a straightforward SSD, and for that purpose, this is a good option. I also have the T7 Shield - which generally works very well - but the damn port is loose. No matter which cable I use (thunderbolt 3, thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2, whatever it may be, Satechi, Cable Matters, Anker, UGREEN) it is always loose. Once it fell out when I was transferring data, lost everything. Not an issue with the T9, or even the traditional T7.

Not an issue with either of my T7 Shields, might be some port damage. Still, this is a solid price on an even faster drive! I use these as edit disks before transferring to cold-storage spinning drives. Apple storage prices can get in the bin.

Just an FYI that very few PCs can achieve the 2,000 MB/s transfer speeds, you need a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port which only high-end motherboards have. It's a dead-end protocol too.

If you add this: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/1441334386/ref=ox_sc_ac… it brings it down to $463.30…
