    Any potential deals for Egypt?

  • -4

That looks like the Yarra river.

  • Great deal. The line to get on one of those boats during Sakura season in the photo will forever give me PTSD.

    • What happened?

  • これをほんやくしているなら、いますぐそのチケットをよやくするときです!

    翻訳しないとどうなるのでしょうか? 許可されないのですか?

Thanks OP. The deals are starting to creep into the window that I'm looking at. Can't book yet though because I'm waiting for other people (work) to get their ducks in a row.

Can't wait for the Yearly Ozbargin Recap in December to see how many downvotes jv got this year.

    • 許されません。日本語が読めれば、日航か全日空だけで来日する義務があるぞ。

      • はい、JALで来るつもりです。

Stopping over at Singapore and extending the travel duration from a ~10h direct (from Sydney) to ~17 hours makes the deal a bit meh unfortunately. Direct with ANA is possible for a little bit more.

    • +17

Some of us do not value our time

      • +3

Correct! You’re also looking at $500+ extra for direct flights

        • +5

More like $200 for ANA with free domestic flights.

    • +1

Maybe a bonus for some people who’d like to have a brief stopover at the city or even the airport.

      • +3

Spot on. Always up for a night in Singapore for some hawker centre food and to stretch the legs.

      • +2

        I'll always take the stopover.
Interesting, speaking on the phone the rep said a stopover can be up to 3 days.

Thinking of doing a trip to Japan in snow season, with a couple of nights in Singapore on the way. Kind of the long way…but from ADL it's more often than not a long way flying to east coast first etc..

        • Interesting, speaking on the phone the rep said a stopover can be up to 3 days.

Yeah, took up that offer in 2006 actually myself (both ways) en route to Europe. Glad to see it's still offered.

        • +1

Don't suppose the rep mentioned how to book this stopover online?
I tried booking it as a multi-stop route (2 day stopover in SIN) but unfortunately it doesn't reflect the same sale price as this deal.

          • @imed: No doubt… They have different classes for everything. So this price might not allow a stopover:

            either at all…
or maybe one stopover per return booking.

Call customer service. You get through reasonably quick…but you may get a different response depending on who you speak to.

    • The time saved is not always useful. For instance if a plane lands at 8am, then you might be stuck with luggage till the hotel opens.

Or if it takes longer and you land at 3pm then you can go straight to the hotel, take a dump and have a shower.

So in that case paying more for a direct flight is not always the better experience.

      • You can do a early check in at the Jewel up to 24 hours before your flight with SIA

      • We left baggage at the airport and went for a swim at Sentosa. Was pretty green to be honest…and I had to sell a kidney to buy a beer…but was a nice refresh before pushing on to London.

        • Beer in Singapore is either cheap at a Hawker Market or Kidney priced anywhere else. No inbetween!

  • Not amazing for people wanting to get in and out of Tokyo, but very good for anyone interested on starting or ending in Fukuoka, which is highly recommended.

  • Seems to be booking via mytrip.com? Which has truly awful reviews?

  • Seen deals for japan a few times now but without easter dates, is it a fools errand to wait for one?

    • I think it will be unlikely for the holiday period, but you never know.

  • How I wish I had someone to go with :/

    • +1

Solo travel can be super fun too! I've done a lot of my travel solo - stay in hostels, you'll meet people organically and you get to decide what you do, and when!

Airline economics will always be a mystery to me, not sure how Singapore Airlines can regularly almost be matching Jetstar pricing now (especially considering it's a longer route with two flights involved), but yeah a good deal for those who don't mind an indirect flight and the extra time that entails.

Personally though I hope these deals end as too many grub bogans are able to go to Japan now and they're causing too many issues.

    これをほんやくしているなら、いますぐそのチケットをよやくするときです

その refers to something the second party (i.e. the person you're talking to) has/something closer to them. Would probably want to use この in this case as the チケット is something you, the speaker, have in your possession/are offering.

  • I never manage to find the price down above even the date range is the same. Could anyone advise me possible issues please?

  • +1

COVID should have taught travellers an important lesson: travel resellers can go bust and invalidate your pre-paid tickets when that happens.

I only ever buy tickets from the airline itself.

Sure, an airline can also get into financial difficulties. But big national carriers are usually bailed out by their governments.

  • Sadly, no deals for business class fares. Prices for seats at the pointy end of the plane have only ever trended upwards since the pandemic.

Oh well, they‘ve got to make money somehow, I suppose.

  • Super buggy site showing me 1500 for business class return. I didn't believe it so I started from scratch and it went up to 5k.

Can't trust booking via something so unreliable.

    • showing me 1500 for business class return. I didn't believe it so I started from scratch and it went up to 5k.

Jesus that's when you book anyway and hope it's honored.

  • Anyone ever booked through these guys? Struggling to find any reviews or testimonials..

    • Note, BTF is a search engine. You don't book with me. It searches OTAs (online travel agencies) for their cheapest prices, and you book through them.

That may explain the lack of testimonials as there's literally no way to send me money for a flight :P

  • Can't get the site to show flights to Tokyo. It keeps showing flights to Hong Kong, anyone have any fix?

    • happens to some people in Chrome. Either an incognito window or clearing your cookies.

  • Hi @beatthatflight, can you explain how the layover works? Am I allowed to not catch the earliest flight immediate and spend 1-2 days in Singapore?

    • not usually, they have these fares like this for their business reasons. You coul consider a return flight to Singapore, and a return flight from Singapore to Tokyo, however?
