Makita 18V Brushless 2-Piece Combo Kit $398.20 Delivered / in-Store / C&C @ Bunnings

140

Normally $449. Lowest price since March 2024 according to PriceHipster. Good starter kit if you want to invest in the Makita ecosystem.

I would personally sell the slow charger that comes with it and buy an unused dual rapid charger from Gumtree/FB market.

  • DHP485Z - Brushless Hammer Drill
  • DTD153Z - Brushless Impact Driver
  • 2X 4.0ah Batteries
  • Standard Charger
  • Tote Bag

  • A similar deal (unsure if it was the same model) went down to $364 on 12/10/2023.
Model number of that deal - DLX2283SM

    • Good catch. It's the same kit. Apparently PriceHipster doesn't show that price for some reason.

  • This or this ryobi combo which I have been eyeing off https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-hammer-drill-and-i…

    • +2

Not brushless, comes with only one battery, not really comparable.

Also, do you really need an impact driver? If not, buy a (better) hammer drill kit such as this one.

      • This is a solid drill.

    • live a little, just buy the makita.

the ryobi is ok if you're just doing handyman jobs at home.

      the makita just feels nicer.

as said below, even buying the makita 12v kit is lighter and smaller and better than the ryobi.

During the tools warehouse sale managed to price beat the more expensive set (700$) with 2 x 5amp battery and impact/drill set which also includes a redemption to 500$. Will be selling 2X battery which will bring the overall down to 320.

    • I have the OP set. but I think I might have got it for less but that was a couple of years ago (so doesn’t count). Perfectly good for my DIY habits. In fact best drill set I have ever owned, if not used. Also, great bag.
That said I was helping a mate do some flooring prep before rolling out carpet and this hammer drill just didn’t have the torque to drive a screw into hardwood joists compared with his higher spec makita.

So your deal sounds awesome. Although I will confess I would never get around to selling the batteries.

  • makita vs bosch?

    • +1

      makita.

unless you're a trade though it doesn't really matter.

the bosch professional series is what i'm referring to.

I wouldn't buy the green bosch.

If you're just using at home, even the bosch 12v professional or makita 12v are good enough
