Does anyone have some good recommendations for Switch games for my 5 year old daughter.
She has been loving Mario Kart so I am hoping for another game that isn't too difficult and teaches you as you go. Some of the Mario games she found a bit too tricky to get through the levels.

My 5 year old has been watching me play through all the mario mainline games. I think he's too young to play himself and he's happy to watch.
as kids we learned how to play the original mario about that age,
difference was my parents would let me play for unscrupulous amounts of hours so there was the ability to just keep playing until i got it. now days my kids only get max 2 hours of screen time a day, they are not going to proficient at any game that requires exploration and critical thinking, so they end up playing short games that are easy to learn like mario kart and mobile games are built that way as well.
attention span is also different in kids these days,
introduce them to the world of pokemon.

Pretty straightforward 2d platformer with no failstates. My 4 year old manages it fine.
Good to know. I picked up Paw Patrol Grand Prix as our kids love the show. They’ve never played a video game but thought I might introduce the 5 year old to them. The Grand Prix game has auto pilot which will steer and accelerate if you don’t manually so the player can just limit themselves to ability use, so thought that might be a safe starting point for her. You can override the auto pilot any time by using the joystick also.
Haven’t yet played it but. Waiting for a good time.
Seconded boomerang-fu and Mario party. There’s also “51 worldwide games”, a well made collection of many simple games. Several are suitable for 5-6 year olds
New Pokemon Snap is super easy and fun

I'd recommend Yoshi's Crafted World, it's a fantastic game for young kids. A side-scrolling platformer which is easier than the traditional Mario games to play. Mellow Mode (as opposed to Classic Mode) makes it even easier for kids to play. It also has a co-op mode where you can play through it together, and help each other out.
