AGL Bill Problem Be Aware

Have just received my AGL electricity bill, and although they refer to the $75 Commonwealth Bill credit, they have only applied the NSW Government rebate which a is a different credit.

So I now have to call to clarify this So just be careful, it seems to me like they are trying to pull a swiftie. Check your credit has actually been applied

    NSW Government rebate

You guys are lucky. In Victoria the Labor government spent all our money, now we get nothing but huge taxes.

Not sure if you are joking or not but there is a VIC one. I got an email about it yesterday

        Maybe they are roleplaying JV.

        • +2

          Just what we need

Not just JV, all Victorians are fed up of the Labor government. Especially after the atrocities Dan Andrews committed.

I can confirm I have received the two quarterly installments of $75 in my electricity account.

I am not sure what that guy is on about.

I am with Tango and only received one (for september usage). Which retailer are you with?

        Did you read your link:

The Commonwealth Government has partnered with states and territories to provide up to $3.5 billion of electricity bill relief to eligible households and small businesses to ease cost of living pressures.

“The commonwealth”. The VIC gov ain’t giving shit as they don’t have any shit left.

    Thanks for the PSA Pam

  • This is what I can see on my recent bill

    Previous balance $0.00
    13 Aug 24 NSW-AUS Gov Bill Relief $75.00cr
    Balance brought forward $75.00cr

So the 3rd line is for the next bill?

  • I do not qualify for NSW's low-income rebate, but I did receive the Federal rebate, which was added to the balance on my Energy Australia account. I have not received my first bill since that payment but I assume it will show up in the payments section on my upcoming bill.

In essence, the rebate goes to the balance rather than appear as a discount/credit entry in the usage section.

  • @OP @screensaver maybe give bill screen shot of what you are trying to say?

hmm you are not talking about the very last bill, right? my latest bill 27/8-26/9/2024 doesnt have any credit on it.

    BUT
the 27/7/24-26/8/24 i see something strange
    previous balance 31.24
113/8/24 NSW aus gov bill relief 75cr
    balance brought forward 43.76cr
    (huh, should it be 31.24+75 = $106.24????)

    • +1

Your previous balance was 31.24 in debt, then add $75 equals 43.76 in credit

      • yep sorry i just checked my bank and i didnt see debit of 31.24 weird i have DD setup

        • You won't. You owed 31.24 but it wasn't taken, because they applied the 75 credit, taking your account into credit, so you owed nothing…….

  • Have just received my AGL electricity bill

  • So I now have to call to clarify

Any updates Pam? My popcorn is getting cold.

    • She really has dropped the ball on keeping us updated on her shenanigans. This saddens me deeply.

I have checked my bill; your credit did not end up there.

If it is not your keys, it is something else. You are always losing things.

It lists that credit as balance brought forward, then I see the total is $492, and I am due to pay 335, the other credit is 89, so it may be they listed it as balance brought forward. This is a pretty high bill. I only used one heater and I was out a lot. I want to change companies. The bill may be correct, but it is not listed as credit. it is listed as balance brought forward I am not going to call, because that 492 total is in another part of the bill and I didnt see it last night

    For federal rebates:
"State and territory governments will administer the rebates and deliver the payments through retailers. "
    https://www.energy.gov.au/energy-bill-relief-fund

So the bill may show it as NSW gov.

    • yes it does show nsw but they dont list it in the credits section, only as balance brought forward, so you have the search for the ACTUAL total amount, which is in another section

      • So it's all resolved? I'm confused.

        • No I just checked my online account and it now says the direct debit due is 260, but the bill pdf direct debit amount remains at 335. It changed overnight

          • @screensaver: I just called up to get an automated account balance and it said 260, so I will leave it as is, the paper bill says 335

  • Check your credit has actually been applied
