Also this is just normal price for 16gb ram? Maybe it’s because sodimm?

Looking at pc part picker, all entry levels are $40~ish per 16gb

  • *【Warranty】Lifetime warranty.
I love how every screenshot has a prominent 'Warranty Void if Removed' sticker…

    • One of my sticks from them failed, and you have to pay for your own shipping to taiwan or hong kong. cheaper to buy a new stick imo

Don't you contact Amazon for a replacement and refund? They normally send you a consignment note for you to send it back to them.

  • If I am correct, it will not match with a 2666mhz 16gb ram will it?

    • +5

You can mix this with the 2666MHz one but both sticks will run at the slower one (2666MHz) by default. The same goes with different voltages, though the risk of instability and crashes may be increased.

      • Cheers, that helps.

  • Anyone knows if this one would work on a Synology DS920+? I know it's not easy to find a compatible stick for Synology that's is also cheap

    • -3

Double check online but there is nothing special about Synology, they are all just sodimm ddr4 rams. All the same… (as long as the freq and capacity matches specs, such would be challenge to find one that doesn’t)

      • The one 16gb stick that seems to work without hiccups it's the Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16GB, but I don't think it's sold anymore

        https://dennistt.net/2022/02/27/ram-upgrade-on-a-synology-ds…

I would double check comparability. A lot of Synology units take ECC ram, not sure if they will work without ECC ram but if you're using btrfs it's probably a good not to.

Also you'll probably get messages in the UI about using non certified ram (or something like that). The messages don't mean shit though, if it works it works.

Edit: DS920+ is non ECC. I have a DS1819+ which uses ECC ram.

        • -1

Ah honestly, if you don’t know you need ECC ram, you don’t.

But sure, everyone has different needs

        • Yeah, that's why I've been hesitant to pull the trigger so far. I think I'll try my luck with the CT16G4SFD8266, just found stock

As far as my research tells me only dual racks ram works with synology NAS

  • Got a bit excited there then I remembered my laptop runs DDR5 :(

  • +1

Can’t seem to see it anymore must me oos

  • My laptop runs 2x8GB DDR4-2400 at maximum anyway, so IDK if this is a good deal or not.
