They look super comfy. Nice price as well. I would have tried them if I would not have enough stock of other brands at the moment. Nice material choice as well (Nylon, Elastane)

piff who needs undies just let it hang wild and free.

That made me think of Free Falling by Tom Petty, but change it to Free Balling…..

      • Some of us would be at increased risk of tripping over.

    • +2

Can confirm they feel as comfy as it looks. Absolutely slides on.

    • Is this true or sarcasm? I always thought nylon was bad, engineered plastic etc?

      • True of course. if you need a magnifying glass to see a sarcasm there is probably none there - it is just you. Synthetic fibres are great at wicking sweat and drying. Trade off is a microplastic polution of water with washing but in the grand scheme of things it is miniscule. Only several years ago all colesworths gave every customer tens of single use plastic bags for their groceries, all of the foods still come in plastic etc.

  • +9

Great for holidays in humid countries. Dries super quick and lightweight.

    • -7

Humidity you’d want cotton not nylon! These would make you sweat like crazy.

        They don't

are you still living in the 1960s? there's so much more to breathability than just the base material itself.

Just came back from Thailand with a suitcase of these, no problems. As a cyclist my legs are quite thick so they tend to ride up during the day.

    Does AIRism work both ways?

  • +9

Can confirm these are very comfy and lightweight. If you're a super sweaty guy the Ultra Seamless Boxer Briefs can get a little clammy, but the other more breathable options are flawless. On the flip-side, the Seamless is the closest I've felt to wearing nothing at all, super tight, smooth and feels like a second skin.

For this price, both are a steal.

    • +33

      Stupid sexy Flanders.

    • do they get hot? I noticed synthetic material underwear like polyester/nylon are like an oven on a warm summer day compared to cotton underwear.

      • +1

The Ultra briefs yes, non-Ultra not nearly as much

    • @ ngengerous Which are the more breathable options that you refer to?

      • +1

The AIRism non-Ultra Boxer Briefs I've found to be more breathable - Ultra is comfy but not as well ventilated.

  • +6

Damn, do they really have to prefix everything with AI?.. Oh, wait…

  • +1

I tried the AIRism boxer briefs, but they didn't work for me. I found them too thin and lacking in support, especially the elastic, which wasn't tight enough.

    • +4

      Needs bigger balls.

    • +2

      Agreed.

There’s very little support, and they could do with the distance between gusset and waist being shorter. Things droop and clang more than with step ones, which have a scalloped pouch. Love the material of these, no sweat issues, but the supportiveness was disappointing. Won’t be buying more.

This material in a brief though would be awesome.

      • what does "support" mean in this context??

        • +2

          They lack a bollock shelf.

How they compare to step one please?

    If anyone has both brands.

    • would like to know too

    • +2

I have both and have just bought more of these. Uniq is a softer and lighter material. Step one are better in my opinion, longer, cooler, and less ride up if you’re using for thigh chafing. But three times this price at the moment. Black Friday steps come down to about $13 each with bulk order

      • +1

Awesome thanks. I like the less ride up so will stick with them or the bamboo kmart one.

    • Tried these out but going back to steps 1s. Do like how light these are but they ride up and aren't as long. Sucks that step 1s are so much more expensive but i unfortunately prefer them.

      • I have the step1s and find that without the quickdraw opening, you are making them ride up anyway

        • fair enough. they never do for me and these did straightaway.

    • Material amazing on these. Less sweaty than step one. But less support - the ‘curved pouch seam’ is what makes step ones work so well. Most undies just don’t have enough support.

    • I have both, these are nice for gym or active wear, but step ones way better for everyday use

I don’t understand these boxer briefs. What is wrong with just briefs? Why do you need or want the boxer part? Especially in an acrylic.

    Looks sweaty and completely unnecessary.

    • +6

      Prevent chaffing on the legs?

    • Yea, they aren't really that comfy, I much prefer cotton, especially when playing sport

  • +1

For some reason I remember the YouTube algorithm recommending this to me which broke down the textile tech behind AIRism.

From the looks of the comments, a lot of people find them to be sweatier than alternatives in humid weather?

    • +1

This is awesome thanks for sharing!

    • -1

in general synthetics (or blends of them) are quick drying but sweaty and smell the worst of any material. Merino is amazingly light, insulating and airy but not hard wearing and a little scratchy. Cotton sucks all round but has great wear. viscose (bamboo) feels great but once wet takes ages to dry.

  • -1

Ahh ffs. My order of 2 of these coming today, ordered last week for $15 each grrr

    • Can you not return?

      • +1

I don't think you can return underwear even if it's unopened.

        • Might depend on the store. I happened to overhear someone being able to return theirs in store recently.

The staff said that usually they don't allow returns for them but in this instance they allowed it due to them not being opened.

  • IMO best are amazon basics underwear

  • these are the best undies you can get. very comfortable if you have a lot of walking planned that day

  • I’m got thunder thighs, how are these for chaffing?
Will they stay down lower on my thighs and not crawl up throughout the day exposing thigh on thigh action?

    • nope

      • So they won’t stay on my thighs and will creep up?

        • Yeah they ride up a bit

From what I can tell from reviews (which suspiciously lack the filter button on the AU site), if you use anything but gentle cold machine wash, the glue will delaminate and leave you with crotchless underwear.

Unless that's what you wanted, no judgement.
