        While I think your point is probably the man reason, some other reasons could be:
        - Hoping people forget to redeem their $5
        - When people do redeem the $5, shopback gets a commission anyway on the $5. So people who wouldn't usually buy a gift card, now you've "locked them in" to spend on the platform. Also, if you pay for shopback, you are more likely to use shopback rather than the competitors.

      I don't know about other people but I only buy giftcards if I'm getting a discount. Paying $5 to save $5 is net zero, not free.

            When I clicked on the T&Cs, it says New Temu customers 100% (was 25%).
            Existing 15% (was 5.5%).

              @trixieb: It's gone now as all rates have fallen. I went direct to Temu on Shopback, it was showing 25% for new customers. In the end I registered and purchased through CashRewards as their rate was >30%, but transaction still hasn't tracked… not hopeful as Temu a bit tricky, I initially tried to register using my usual email, and Temu recognised it as an existing account… I have never bought anything from Temu, so they clearly are sharing account details with some other business. So whether I will be accepted as a 'new customer' is moot.

                That doesn't sound good. There are privacy concerns with Temu.
                Temu's tracking has been an issue. Hopefully CR will add the tracking manually.

              @trixieb: My SB Plus Temu purchase from last night has now tracked at 100%. Usually wouldn’t be any issues but hopefully when approval day comes, it stays at 100%.

              I only spent about 15 bucks, regretting now should have bought more closer to $40 :(

    Dodgy ShopBack - first the gambling challenge hasn’t tracked and now my AliExpress rate was not tracked at 15%

    Purchased an item for $6.69, and only $0.26 tracked. Seems like they’re tracking at individual level as the other item was tracked at $0.66 cashback ($4.41 purchase price)

    The two combined totals still did not add up to my original cart value of ~$26

          It's my $91 cb from Get Your Guide I'm worried about. After clicking Pay the GYG page showed a payment error, but all my tickets immediately hit my inbox.

          I raised a ticket for the incorrect % after raising a ticket when CB didn't track.

          I got told to wait 90 days for the correct % to be applied.

    Opted in for shopback plus so I could get the bonus cashback but its still just showing the normal tracking on shopback (which ranged from 0.2%-4%). Really disappointed and cannot contact shopback :(
