Please Help Me to Crack The Catch (Get 8 Weeks Free! Health Insurance)

On the last page of the purchase, it says:

Get 8 weeks free!

Get 8 weeks free when you join any new combined Hospital and Extras cover. Plus, we'll waive the 2 & 6 month wait on your Extras. Offer ends 30 September 2024. Available to eligible, new members. Offer fulfilled in month 3 of membership.

'Offer fulfilled in month 3 of membership.'

Does this mean I still have to pay for the first 8 weeks and then from month 3 onward plus 8 weeks, I won’t have to pay anything?

I checked the terms and conditions below and they don’t mention the 'Offer fulfilled in month 3 of membership.'

You pay for the first 2 months, then you get 2 months free, then you're back to paying the full cost

Welcome to the world of healthcare churning.

If they're forcing you to take it out the least you can do is game the system.

The best ones are when they actually pay you to take them out.

So month 5 you churn again ?

It's a symbiotic parasitic relationship, where the customer is a beneficiary host

  • The catch is health insurance is extremely expensive. So after two months they've already made heaps out of you and haven't had to pay out on any pre-existing conditions.
If you don't have pre-existing conditions, you should just be churning regularly in my opinion.
