  • Any running experts on here? Went into Rebel / Athletes foot this week looking for a decent pair of runners (primarily road running). Rebel seemed to reccommend Asics Gel Kayano 31's or Nimbus 26. Athletes foot also reccommended the Gel Kayanos and also some Mizuno Wave Inspire. Although the more I look into it the more options I find!

  • Saucony xodus 2 (trail) for $89 is fantastic. I have 2 pairs currently.

I got the Peregrine 13 GTX for $80 and did my first trail run on Saturday. Good shoe.

depends if you value or are chasing comfort or longevity, some shoes like the Hoka speedgoat are comfy and well padded when new but compact and hard within 60km or trail running and the soles are skimpy on the lug material, I ran 3 pairs of speedgoat 5 in rotation and lugs were toast and slipping on light trails (rolled an ankle even) before each hit 100km, not very durable, and have gone off them even thou they are so highly rated (I rate them good as a race day show only, not a daily trainer). The brooks sole rubbers are far more tacky and durable in my experience e.g caldera 6 will get 4-5x the miles than a hoka. Brooks uppers are always comfy. Bounce lasts 3x as long.

Anything with dna loft 2 onwards stays a lot bouncier for longer due to the nitrogen infusion in foam. Really depends how long your runs are as to yourfor need well padded shoes.

Anything over 10km on or off trails benefits from higher stack height and dont worry about the weight.

this website sample below does a fantastic job of literally cutting shoes in half and dremel wear testing, really good guide to shoes in my opinion

  • Which one of these are best for long walks? Will roam Japan for weeks and not sure if Ultraboost or NB Fuelcore will be good enough
