I'm puzzled by the downvotes—this is a valuable question. There’s a significant loophole when it comes to the term "refurbished." Legally, the guidelines are quite vague, and companies aren’t always held accountable for the steps they take to classify a product as refurbished. I've purchased refurbished items that clearly hadn't undergone thorough quality checks and arrived with defects. Some of them malfunctioned within just eight months.
The silver lining is that consumer protection laws can work in your favor, especially if a company claims that the warranty has expired sooner than expected—often after only three or six months instead of the standard twelve. I've successfully sought assistance from consumer protection when an electronic device failed eight months after purchase, even though the manufacturer only provided a six-month warranty.
On the fence. To buy it not to buy that is the question. Been looking for a good deal on this unit but unsure if this is it.
Would strongly avoid buying refurbished (at least one in the "excellent condition/minor scratched" category).
I bought a unit in the same category, which looked like it came right from the previous owner. None of the consumable components (main brush, sweeping brush, mops, filter) had even been replaced, they were all heavily worn, dirty and came straight from the previous owner. The brush had hair tangled in it, specks of hair were littered thru the robot unit and dock, and lastly water and odor in the water tanks.
Ended up with a full refund and bought a new Dreame having lost complete faith in refurbished units from Roborock. I am sure people have had different experiences, but didn't want to deal with the hassle of another return.
I got asked to return it to Technocity Service Centre in Sydney, which i assume does the QC checks and refurbishing locally.
Happy to share photos of the unit I returned if anyone is curious.
Thanks for your comment. Passing on this deal. Was about to make payment.
You just posted your comment probably while I was writing mine :)
Thanks a lot .. gonna pass this deal too !
I am curious, would appreciate some imgur pics
Here are some photos
That is very gross.
Thanks
wow that unit has had months of heavy use
I agree, had issues with Segway and Sony for the same reason. Their referb items arrived faulty. Had to fight for a repair and refund.
Damnn !
This makes it harder ..
Been looking at Ecovacs T30.. which has come down to $1399..
Now with these Roborock prices I could save some money ..
Has anyone ever dealt with Roborock directly? How good is their customer service ? Are their refurbished stuff any good ?
Regards
I have roborocks second generation vacuum robot in 2018, it still works great. Im waiting good deal for their mop and vacuum robot. Also I have ecovas window cleaning robot, has quality problem, after one year it cant turn on, I contacted their Customer Service and send it to them then fix, not sure how long it can last. So I will avoid ecovas
Thanks a lot mate !
Now this post has got me more confused .. roborock or Ecovacs 🤣😂
Hi I am looking also saw Xiaomi M30 Pro C107 not sure which way to jump or not to jump at all.
Wonder if my Max V will end up here as I just replaced it through JB (would struggle to dock badly)
Woooww ! Was the returns easy or was it a struggle ? Is Roborocks customer service good ?
It’s easy to contact and return to ecovocs
My Q Revo will probably be up here, Roborock support is terrible fyi and JB isn't that useful either. Same problem wouldn't dock took 4 returns to get them to finally replace the unit and the new one is finally correctly.
Their support is pretty useless and is outsourced to a company in Melbourne on behalf of Roborock.
Oh I thought their support is pretty good (according to forums) ..
So the unit they replaced .. are u happy with it ? Like are u happy with overall Roborock cleaning and its features?
Cheers
@Stonecold3419: Lucky mine was less then 2 weeks old, JB simply offered a refund or exchange, new one is docking fine so I think was a dud, I also havent updated it yet and kind of scared to!
Vacuuming is fine, my S5 was perfect too just way more noisy. I've got floating floors and either I haven't got the settings right but cleaned them 3 times yesterday with different settings with the OMO Roborock floor cleaner added and all I can see is the robot wheels and mop tracks everywhere :( So either the mop function is still useless or most people ignore this?
@Stonecold3419: I think it depends, I thought the same but in Aus they don't do their own support its a third party so not the best. They kept swapping random parts and shipping it back to JB, even the guy at JB was wondering what the hell they were thinking at one stage they just swapped the internal base station pump and sent it back and sure enough this wasn't the problem lol.
I sold it as soon as it came back brand new, lost about $100 on it but beat the massive price drops its had now. I've got a Eufy X10 now which I'm very happy with. When it worked I was happy with the Q Revo but the support ultimately made me want to look elsewhere.
One of the forum members posted a receipt for a brand new Qrevo Maxv - $1231 at TGG
Refurb sounds risky
Where mate ?

Just got this price from TGG today! Thanks!
Thanks mate, I'm going to give it a go.
Thanks again for this, JB Hifi price matched for me.
@Ronson: Tried price matching with JB today via online chat without any success :( any tips plesae :(
For what it's worth, our 'brand new' Q Revo has been doing great maybe close to a year in. Can't say for a refurbished one. When these things work, they really do take a crappy chore and does it for you.
I review this thing highly, and I think its worth the brand new price vs the time it take to vacuum/mop the floors yourself.
Who certifies them?
