From the games website:
Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for five-to-twenty courageous players and one devious storyteller.

A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village.

+1 for the concept even though I'm based in SA and can't make it.

Hope you guys have fun, sounds sweet.

Any other Ozb guys know if we do something similar in SA?

What's lunch and dinner? Because 5$ is pretty good

BBQ lunch. Costco pizza for dinner.

Super envious for those who can make it!

  • I wonder if i can just wait till last day to decide and that there will still be tickets left. Can't plan that far ahead.

    • +2

While we appreciate people pre-purchasing, you can buy at the door and be pretty confident we'll accommodate you.

    • I'm sure there's water.

  • +1

Does it come with a sermon?

This is part of The Big LAN, so just like our LANs it takes place in a church but doesn't have any religious content.

  • Anyone organising a meetup event on this? Will be so cool!

Blood on the Clocktower with randoms will be wild, spreading the word to the homies.

We've done it a few times now and it's actually been really good. Makes for an interesting first couple of games while people get to know each other, and then a different dynamic by the end of the day once everyone is best friends.

      • Nice! If there's one game to play with new people, it's this one haha. I wonder how many people were enemies at the end of the day too :D

  • +2

Games, potential new friends, and a few meals for 5 bucks… Good deal

Can't join as I have plans that day, but highly recommend people who've never even tried the game to give it a shot (even if it's just for the food)!

It's been a pretty life-changing game for me, met a great group of friends through this game that we play weekly with. We love the game so much, there's a 3-day convention just for this game. People in the community will do anything they can to make newbies have a fantastic first experience, so all you have to do is take a chance. :)

  • Would you be sure to get into that specific game, or do you have to sign up/take a chance when you get there?

    • +4

So you can rock up any time and get into a game. We will start new games roughly every 45 minutes if the demand is there (we have multiple storytellers and multiple copies of the game).

However if you arrive at a time and there is going to be a while before the next game starts, the game itself actually has a mechanic for introducing players part-way through a game so you would still be able to join a game that is already ongoing.

Suffice to say, we can pretty much be confident that as long as you aren't arriving right at the end of the event, we'll be able to get you into a game, and the earlier you arrive the more games you'll be able to join.

      • Awesome. Thanks

  • Just wanted to check because BOTC is only listed on the schedule at 2pm, is that just to put it on paper, so to speak, but it's actually running all day?

And given how long the event is, is it okay to come and go throughout the day (without needing to buy another ticket)?

    • +3

Yeah, good pick up. The game will be running all day. We just didn't want to add a whole extra line on the schedule. But basically the first game will kick off as soon as people are there.

And yeah it's all good to come and go throughout the day.

I’m taking my son to my first LAN in nearly two decades, this LAN!

  • +1

Will those who BYO PC have to play PC for the duration of the day? I'm wanting to play LAN and BotC throughout the day. Where would I store the PC between games? Thanks

    • +2

You can totally do both. Your BYOC ticket gets you a dedicated table spot so your stuff can stay there.

      • +1

Thank you for your quick reply! Cool I'll do that then. Looking forward to the day.

  • How frequently does this type of session run? I've booked my ticket, but am now unable to make it.
