This only looks good with the wooden frame in my opinion, but I couldn’t see an option for that.

    • +3

I've got the white frame for our 65" frame tv and it looks boss

      • +1

Same i really like my white frame but really each to their own here

  • +1

Great TV. Have the 2022 model that I got on BF and am very satisfied with it.

    • -2

So it was on your BF?

      • He wears it like a sandwich board

  • Great price

if I may suggest, email loyalty at samsung dot com and ask them for a loyalty discount. if you're polite enough, they will give you a code. this code can give you anywhere between 15 and 30 percent on public Samsung store

then wait till the model you want goes on sale and wham

I got 65" Frame from Samsung directly for $900 something. it went on sale, plus I had a code and there you go.

    • +1

I just tried with chat. No dice on any code.

      • +3

chat is a different beast. email loyalty @ samsung.com it goes to a different team

    • What do you typically say when emailing. Do you need to have a Samsung device to warrant getting these codes.

I'm on the hunt for this TV at black Friday or boxing day. I've never had a Samsung product.

      • I just say that I have been a loyal Samsung customer for years, and I've had mobile phones and tables since their 2nd generation, also have a Samsung refrigerator and TV, and "could I please have a loyalty discount on this model I am interested in" and give them the model name

  • Are these TVs mostly cosmetic or are they generally solid for gaming/movies/sports? Don't need top shelf but still after something solid.

    • +4

      Yeah, they’re solid.

Your wife/gf will love the aesthetics, but it still has decent 4k 120hz with VRR and a decent response time.

I’d prefer an OLEZ, but honestly have been pretty happy with my 65” 2020 model. And it definitely looks nice with the wooden frame around it.

      • +4

Your wife/gf will love the aesthetics

Never understood the idea that only women care about the aesthetic of their living space

        • Never understood the idea that only women care about the aesthetic of their living space

Yeah, don't forget about the gays, they love the aesthetic too!

      • just wondering, does the game mode only work on one port or can the game mode be enabled on other ports as well?

      • I’d prefer an OLEZ

        Crikey, don't tell your:

        wife/gf

    • this is the same as Q70 of the same generation, just different design plus Frame specific features in software

this means no local dimming of any kind, but still very decent QLED panel (but not Neo QLED that goes into QN85, QN90) with solid picture, stellar brightness, 200hz refresh, 4k@120hz and VRR for consoles, it's an amazing TV overall.

note that sizes below 55" are inferior (no 200hz, no VRR, no HDMI 2.1, no 4k@120hz), not worth getting at all, but still could be a nice "frame" tv to freak guests out. you know, when what looked like a framed artwork suddenly starts displaying ABC News

      • can all of the above features work on other ports or only on the ports with the game icon?

        • check on rtings or in detailed specs. these features work only on HDMI 2.1 ports, and afaik not all HDMI ports on many Samsung TV's are 2.1

on my Frame for instance only one port is HDMI 2.1, and that's the one I connected Xbox to

  • +4

Bought 65 inch for $13xx from samsung not too long ago, its really good in bright rooms

    • Is that the one with the matte coating?

      • Yep, frame tv has Matt coating

        • Only the newer model, so some reviews recommended getting one of the older models for definition if you wanted to use it as an actual TV/screen as opposed to just artworks.

          • @ATangk: Why is a matte screen bad for TV viewing?

            • @serpserpserp: Matte is good for anti glare, but it’s not good for clarity. Hence not good for showing TV but good for art.

        • 2021 and earlier were not matte. better for viewing angles

      • Yes. The Frame 2024 does

  • If not in eastern states, HN routinely price matches BL. Good way to get same in SA without hassles.

  • Cashrewards is 6%
    around $118 cashback

  • I would love a 42" or 32" version of this for my bedroom.

  • Just missed out, sold out while I was in the checkout

  • +1

    https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/the-frame-2024-qle…

Very mediocre contrast and HDR brightness.

    • +1

Super thin TV. Can't do it all. Plus it is Samsung

  • It seems like there have been more great TV deals recently. Do you think there will be even better deals as we get closer to Black Friday, especially for 85" ones?

  • JB Hifi have this for $2495 but you can get 15% off when you add a cheap samsung soundbar ($249) brings it down to $2277
