This game is free, I've had a play of it it's not bad for a freebie and will be interesting to see how it improves in time.

Thanks for the info, I was posting it in case any other PC people wanted to try the game. As a side note I'm not affiliate or doing marketing from this game developer. I have played a bit of the free version and it gave me a good idea of the game (whilst not upgrading or spending any money on the game).
So its more a demo than a free game
Well my thoughts was it gives you the base game for free if you want to put money into the game to support it or upgrade that's up to you.
100% this im 3k hours in and things are still being tested

A free-to-play game called 'Dungeonborne' is also on Steam - my friends and I tried it recently and found it much more accessible and fun, it's almost the SAME GAME but more polished. It's still a bit savage re PVP but we worked it out eventually ('Spin to win' whirlwind move with the Fighter class works great on idiots)

Don't be too discouraged from posting deals - yeah we're a bunch of critics, but we appreciate the effort to share what you think is a bargain. I've found it's best to include as much info as you can, such as what sort of game it is, any in-app purchases, if it has ads, whether you can finish the game without spending any money, if you have to give any extra info (eg sign up for an account), etc.
Yeah, please don't be discouraged. I think your post is appreciated by those interested in this type of game.
My comment above was just to let people know that it's not one of those 100% free for a limited time giveaway games that we see on Epic or Amazon Prime. It's more akin to a free to play game where you can pay to unlock more content using in-game, or real, currency.
Thanks for that recommendation @Goat Lord. The reviews for Dungeonborne are mostly negative, though.
Whereas Dark and Darker is mostly positive.
My friends and I are all middle aged dad gamers and are not pro at all, we found 'extracting' in Dark and Darker almost impossible with a lack of portals and too many players focusing on killing us - my friends literally refused to play it after a few games. Dungeonborne however seemed far more polished and accessible, and allowed us to actually escape with loot a few times. Granted, we did get PVP steamrolled by a few of teams, but we were able to occasionally win. We don't expect to play too far into it, just saying it seems more accessible and fun than D&D for casuals to just try as a coop experience.
This is an MMO with most of the good stuff locked behind a paywall - anything more than free is too expensive.

Not all games can just be free like Epic Games store giving away things all the time. Some games are smaller companies etc.

Firstly, been on steam as "free" for a while.
This is essentially just a trial version, can only do low gear matches and have one character.
The game itself is very unpolished and poorly designed, it has its place in its niche of the medieval PvPvE Extraction genre and unfortunately due to the Dungeonborne developers just throwing their game away Dark and Darker remains.
As I've played Dungeonborne it spoiled DaD for me and gave me perspective I wish I didn't have, I cannot enjoy DaD knowing there was a version that was so much better that got shitcanned.
DaD is not free and is simply a trial of dogwater mode filled with bots.

Demo/Trial of a paid game =/= bargain IMO.

I've seen one of my fav streamers play it a lot. Although Idk what they are playing :) But it's great to add to the collection as I assume they won't be playing any boring games.
