Getting Super Mario Party Jamboree for $30?

I see Super Mario Party Jamboree is $79 and also see trade deal at EB games. 2 PS5, Xbox or switch games and get the game for $0. I also saw JB has 2 for $30 games as well. Would it work if I bought the games from JB took them to EB and tried to trade? Also in case they say no will EB open the plastic seal for the games? In case they do not take I can just return the games to EB.

  • Return the game to JB*
    Sorry!

  • Also incase they say no will EB open the plastic seal for the games?

They should be able to tell you the trade in values without opening the seal.
Better yet, check trade-in values with EB on the games you are planning to grab from JB beforehand.
Trade in values need to be more than $10 to qualify. They also change all the time so best to check, buy and trade straight away.

    • Ok thanks! The JB and Eb games are opposite to each other so I will check and quickly trade.

The key word here is two selected games.

You are not going to win in this situation.

    • It is worth the try. Going to be saving myself 50$

      • You will likely not, but do you.

      • Unless the total cost price of your two traded games is $50 or less, you're making a small loss. Better off selling the two games you pick on ebay (as youd likely make more than $50 even after seller fees) and buying Mario at the best market price at your retailer of choice.

Its very easy to come out ahead if you just sell the games yourself, but if lazy, select the games you bought for the cheapest when doing the trade in :)

    Most Switch games are viable.
Even PS5 games from ~24 months ago can be also, it just needs to be worth more that $10 trade value. (I traded 'Monark' which I bought from Amazon about 2 years ago )

The other month when 13 Sentinels was ~$21 from Big W I grabbed that as trade fodder (Don't worry I already own it digitally, it's amazing :P)

I was actually considering grabbing that Sparks of Hope deal yesterday to use..

most of the jb deal games are not eligible. phone EB to check first. usually sale price in EB over $28 are eligible.

  • If you find two from that list at JB, please do let us know.

Purchased two copies of Lords of the Fallen (PS5) for $30 yesterday and traded them in towards Zelda Echoes of Wisdom for no additional cost. No dramas at all and the JB I went to had plenty of sealed copies. Not sure what other games from the 2 for $30 list are applicable, but if they're being sold for over $30 preowned at EB they should work fine.

TL;DR Lords of the Fallen will work towards EBs trade deals, and you can currently get 2 for $30 at JB.

    • Your EB store seems pretty chill about it, but I believe official policy is they can't accept duplicates of the same game for trade deals.

      • I dont think I've ever heard that before - but could be the case, the workers at my local EB store are very friendly and have even said that they will probably be doing the same as me for these trade deals.

        • I’ve certainly heard of plenty of people trading in duplicates before. Don’t see why they’d prohibit it, those are games to be resold and not to go in a personal collection, so why would they care if the two games are the same or not. As long as they can sell the titles and make a profit, it should be the same.

But some stores apply weird logic. Can’t see anything formal at all saying you can’t use two of the same games for a promotion but.

      • Mine didn't care. Literally walked out of JB with 2 sealed games and handed them over to EB.

  • I just picked up MP Jamboree for $20 - purchased 2 copies of Lords of the Fallen for $30 (2 for $30 deal) and signed up to JB HiFi Perks with a burner email address which got me a $10 discount coupon. Ended up paying $20 @ JB and trading in both copies of the same game @ EB in exchange for MP Jamboree :3

    • Can confirm the lord of the fallen still works.

Traded 2 copies in for mario and luigi.

      • Now only @$8 when my mate went to get his copy. Pays off to act early I guess.

        • So you can't trade in Lord of the Fallen anymore?

          • @thisisnotakn: You can, it just wont be eligible for such trade deals as it does not have more than or equal to $10 trade value.

            • @jjsu: I see, thanks for that. Guess OZB tanked the trade in value
