Optus nbn Plans with Flybuy Points

Hi,
Is it possible to join optus Home internet (NBN) flybuys offer and remain with them for 3-4 months.

After that switch to a new provider and maybe after another 2 months join optus home internet again and take advantage of another lot of flybuys points?

    My apologies for posting this.

I did a google search and only need to be a new customer to take advantage of the flybuys deal.

    • Usually you would do the Google search before making the post. Otherwise you’re being extremely lazy…

I did a search using Netscape trying to find new search engines. Google came up as number 1…

On the other hand, I was lazy (public holiday).

  • Just Google it.

  • yes. I've done it.

  • Did anyone get the Optus NBN home EOFY 30k flybuys points yet?

    • No. Just realised I have not received the points yet. I'll be contacting them first thing next week and if I get no where with them I will contact the TIO. I have a copy of the offer I signed up for with my details so hopefully this will help to get the points.

      • yeah I didn't get it and followed up and it's been emails back and forth for a week now

        • What is the name of your plan?
When I signed up, I contacted live chat to active it immediately. The rep sneakily changed me to a different plan.
"Optus Internet Everyday" is the flybuys one. That's the only one they'll give you the points.
I got put on "Optus Plus Everyday"by the rep.
Had to settle for alternate compensation as Flybuys wouldn't budge with Optus.

          • @follow: It was like EOFY everyday fast flybuys NBN home 30000 points in June 2024

          • @follow: I went to follow up with flybuys they kept giving me the we are still investigating story

            • @Poor Ass: Optus Internet Everyday Fast is the name. Check the app or your bills for the exact name.
If it is correct, lodge a case with the TIO.
You won't have to do anymore chasing, They'll chase after you to close the case.

  • What tio ? I still had to chase FB

    • Did you get any response from Flybuys?

I contacted Flybuys and they say if I didn't sign up through "Electronic Direct Mail" link (whatever that means), I'm not eligible to get the points (despite the Optus CS says I'm eligible)

      • nah they are all bullshit they don't pay up both Optus and Flybuys no help

        endless emails

        I just gave up

    • Try contacting the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman https://www.tio.com.au/. That is what I am doing now.

  • I am also on the same boat. Contacted Optus a couple of times and they asked me to call Flybuy 5o get points. I was like WTF how do I explain thus 5o flybuy?

    Will stay away from Optus.

    • Contact the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. They will help you get this resolved.

I have just contacted the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to try and help me get the flybuys points. I have an order email which states that I should receive the points within 3 months. I have been trying to get this resolved with Optus for the past month but have not got anywhere yet.

I have had a successful outcome. I did not get the 30,000 flybuys points, however I have received compensation which is a better deal. So I urge anyone who has not received their points to contact the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman http://www.tio.com.au and they will help you get this resolved. And it will not take too much of your time.

      • I raised the complaints on 12/11 and still haven't got an outcome :(

But the TIO email says Optus and I have until 28/11 to reach a resolution. I'll wait and see…

Good luck. You just need to wait. I also raised mine with the TIO on 12/11 and it was resolved today. Based on the way Optus handled my complaint (i.e., they were very nice and accommodating), I would expect you will have a similar outcome. If it is not resolved in the next week then the TIO will do something more to help you.
