Best Price for iMac M3 16GB RAM and 512 GB Drive

It looks like the only place to get the 16GB variant of the iMac is directly from Apple as all the stores (Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi, Good Guys, etc) have only 8gb iMacs.

The Apple store in Adelaide said it would be full price ($3099) for the 16GB, 512 GB version. The 'Genius' said I was not eligible for Education Discount as I was not a university student.

Could I still buy it online via the education store? Or is there any way I could get this version cheaper in any store?

Wait for M4 if you can. It will probably come with 12GB as standard.

If you wait until early november, you can get an extended free trial from Apple due to its extended return season until early January.

I've never done it, but this is OzBargain and people claim they are students all the time to get the student discount. January could also get you a gift card for back to uni for you.

Cashrewards usually throws in a cashback too near the end of the back to uni promotion. Then there are the Coles/Woolies points "discount", or the easily lazy 5% off gift cards through Macquarie debit card.

Of course if you need it now, buy now.

    • Thanks for the detailed reply. Unfortunately have some time constraints, so am buying it now.

  • Worth considering a MacBook too and a good monitor.

Or 2 monitors. I use an alogic display dock.

  • Just constrained by budget for now.
