  • Would the OP please explain what is the bargain?

Is it the meal for paying for a minimum one night? Or the price for one night? Or what exactly? Is this a bargain compared to their 'rack rate'?

    • it's receiving a free 3-course dinner-for-2 in the gowings bar & grill when booking a qt king deluxe rm for $380/night with a visa card

I think a "better" deal than this would be to sign up for the free Priority Guest loyalty program (http://www.qtsydney.com.au/loyalty/) and save $38 per night off the Visa "promo sale" @ $342. If you need to stay somewhere on the weekend than the weekend package deal (One dinner for two at Gowings Bar & Grill, or
Breakfast for two each day in Gowings Bar & Grill, or
A haircut or Don shave for him and a luxury one hour spa treatment in spaQ for her.) @ $292 for members would seem a much better deal. This assumes you want to stay over the weekend of the 15th.

Still, OPs post is really a thinly veiled attempt to promo this deal.

    • you mean http://www.qtsydney.com.au/promotions/experience-qt-sydney-w…?

that is stay 2 nights and receive 1 free dinner

this deal is stay 1 night, receive 1 free dinner

      • Yes, however, rates are cheaper and you have multiple options rather than just a dinner: breakfast for two each day or shave and spa treatment.

We had a restaurant booking already, so I switched over to this deal. Taking away what would have been spent on dinner, this makes the cost of checking out the hotel itself an acceptable amount. Yes, there's plenty of hotels for cheaper but I want to see what all the fuss is about.

And I only want one night, not the whole weekend. Yup, I'm the sucker who's the target market for this promo.

oh my god didnt know rich people trolled ozbargain like us plebs

How else am I gonna afford this if I don't save on groceries, gift cards, apps and cashbacks?!?

My boyfriend was taking me to Gowings Bar & Grill for dinner, and I now get to say we're having our anniversary night on Ozbargain!

        • Like you said, it's not bad as a 3 courses meal with wine/cocktail for two would probably cost you anywhere between $250 - $300 bucks on the night. So another $100 bux more to get you a nice room at QT is definitely a bargain.

  • Has anyone actually cashed in this deal using the qtvisa promo code? I called the the hotel as there is no reference to included meals when making the booking online. I was told (on the phone) that the deal is only valid for Platinum Visa card holders. I have sent a couple of emails back and forth to clarify this (Is the deal only available to Platinum card holders) but I'm yet to receive a straight answer. I'd rather sort this out prior to making a booking than have an argument at reception.

    • Update: I just received confirmation from the Reservations Coordinator at QT that the deal is only available to Platinum Visa card holders.

    • Yup, I booked last night. There was a definite air of 'huh?' throughout the process.

No staff were aware of the promo when I called to modify my booking (mobile booking failed to apply the promo code), check what time dinner was (ended up having to make a booking then, dunno what they were going to do if it was booked out), checking in or checking out. Even so, everyone I spoke to were really nice about it. No arguments necessary.

Confusion worked in my favour as I don't think Reception could distinguish food from drinks on the restaurant bill - got the whole thing off!

Edit: Didn't know about the Visa platinum restriction until I came back to this thread. By luck, my Visa is a platinum but they were fine when I put down my Amex as security.
